How important is the Blu Ray player to you?

Never watched a blu-ray movie in my life, idiotic for them to put it in there and it's whats brought along my hatred of Sony. It'll come in handy for me down the line when tech moves forward but right now i don't need nor want it in my PS3.
I usually don't buy movies, but when a really good one comes along, I'll just get it on blu ray. I already saw TDK twice with my PS3, which kept me really happy. :D
Ive only watched one blu ray movie on it, which came free for joining PSN.
It was casino royale, but i never watched it all as id seen it already.
I still like blu ray though, for the games.
only play games on my PS3
cant really see the difference between BR and normal... but that could just be me :P
Bluray is necessary this generation, but Lems will tell you differently because M$ doesn't use it. It's got great capacity (25gb, 50gb, 100gb, 200gb, and 250gb), scratch resistant, and best quality video and audio vs (9gb, 18gb) scratchable, and normal quality video and audio.

I wouldnt call it a ''necessary'' feature...
Now a controller is a ''necessary'' feature right?...cuz wifout a controlla you cant pway the viddyeogame! then what are you doing huh? Lookin at the main menu watching the press start icon flash? thinkin to yourself ''what am I gonna go now...Im screwed?''. Thats a necessity right there.
Bluray? thats just more of a luxary item, a really really really good one. :)
I've used it a few times but I find alot of movies look like crap because of film grain, ie Dark Knight you get the IMAX scenes that just knock your socks off (and then you KNOW you're watching blu-ray)...then you get to the regular film parts and you get half the screen in letter box and with the film grain on top of it, it makes it almost look like it's off an anamorphic DVD. I guess if more movies were made straight to digital format or in IMAX i'd probably start using Blu-ray more over DVDs.
0, I dont even have an HD TV yet, my Ps3 is gaming machine that plays DvDs sometimesAgentA-Mi6Exactly. The TC should first ask if you have a HDTV or not. Because if you don't, chances are you're not using blu-ray.
I would've been fine without it, but since it's included in my ps3 i now prefer to get blu rays. Of course, i'd still rather sink my money into games then movies, so i don't have a big BR collection. It does outnumber my ps3 collectiong though, but it's worth knowning that my ps3 isn't even a year old and i prefer to play multiplats on the 360/wii.

MGS4...unless you want it on about 10 DVD's. DVD's will go the way of CD's when it comes to gaming. It was only a few years ago I could go to Best Buy and buy any new PC game on DVD or CD, go try to find a game on CD now.
my PS3 is mainly used for gaming... got around 5 Blu-ray movies and sometimes use its browser to surf on internet...
But with all the awesome games available i spent my time gaming on my PS3..
Simple answer NO Never Blu Rays cost more money why would i want to buy Blu Rays when i still dont have a HD set up? Although i do like the fact i have a Blu Ray Player it means i wont be left behind. Although i honestly do not see Blu Ray Taking off for a while yet, well at least to the extent of DVDs.How important is the Blu Ray player to you?
