PS3 owners --- Why are you hyping Killzone 2?

I find it completely ironic that PS3 owners would hype Killzone 2 after the 1st Killzone scored a 6.9. Fanboys were screaming "Halo killer" before Killzone released, and there was massive ownage after the GS review. Now, I can sort of understand why PS2 owners hyped the 1st Killzone. It seemed like maybe it was going to be a great game based on all the previews, the developer interviews, etc. But it flopped hard. Ok, are fanboys getting fooled again with Killzone 2? Great looking previews of the game, etc. The SAME scenario as Killzone 1. Are fanboys going to get fooled again? Also, why would ANYONE ever hype a sequel to a game that scored 6.9? Not even Wii owners or 360 owners would ever do that. :lol:

Because of the mainly positive previews.

Remember, they've actually played the game.

Why the heck am I getting so much criticism lately for saying "cows" or "lemmings" when a game is coming out? Are we not suppose to use those terms anymore or something? Wow, I'm way off base here. I could have sworn Killzone 2 was a PS3 title and that the majority of folk looking forward to it are PS3 owners (aka cows). My bad. I'll be better next time. :roll:

That's fine. A lot of people liked it, and a lot hated it. But, it did score a 6.9. Cows are hyping Killzone 2 AAA. THAT is what does not make sense. Fine if you want Killzone 2, but it is VERY RARE for a follow-up in a franchise to go from the score Killzone got to AAA. It did happen from GTA2 to GTA3, but that is a rare exception.

Im hyping it AA at the most, but after Killzone, I couldn't care less if if the sequel scores worse, im getting it because I liked Killzone and im sure Killzone 2 will be even better.

I also think this is strange

It's not as if they don't have shooters worth hyping like Resistance 2 and Massive Action Game

I would think since all the positive reaction its been getting. Also the MP seems to have legs and thats what it comes down to with FPS's.finalfantasy94

The word "sheep" doesn't encompass all Wii owners. The word "lemming" doesn't encompass all 360 owners. People use those terms anyway. If more and more people are going to complain about these terms, then the words "cow", "lemming", and "sheep" should just be done away with entirely in SW. Yes, not everyone who owns a PS3 is a cow. Not everyone who owns a PC is a hermit. So, I guess from now on I'll never use the word "cow", "sheep", "lemming". I'll say PS3 owners, Wii owners, and 360 owners. Using the terms "cow", "sheep", "lemmings" never used to be a problem in SW btw until recently for whatever reason...

IGN says its fun and plays fine. They played both SP and MP. Even on their BEYOND podcast they said the shooting is accurate. I trust ign more then gamesradar.

Yeah I don't understand this as well. Why hype Killzone 2 when the first was garbage. I can understand why some would hype Halo 4 but Killzone 2. Boggles my mind. At least God of War 3 deserves its hype but Killzone 2? Really?

Hardly anyone here has ever called it a Halo killer besides the five or so super hardcore cows. It was journalists and other people from the industry calling it a halo killer.

The first killzone while not a bad game was an okay game. It had some cool weapons, sweet looking enemies and it looked really good. It captured the grittiness of war in the city levels that it had.

That said I think Killzone 2 looks like it has potential to be AAA. They seem to be fixing the complaints that people had with it, and the multiplayer looks really fun.

First of all,fanboys hype any exclusives.

Also,Killzone 2 look like a very good game. It looks a bit clunky but hopefully they will fix that. If they do it should be great. The physics,graphics,weapons,multiplayer all look really good.

No you're not wondering what people are excited for, you're badgering people for being hyped for a game that looks like it should have some good hype, just because the original scored average on the internet. That's why you're a sad sad little person.

No, that's why I'm being a logical person. I completely understand why Halo 2 was hyped AAA. The 1st one scored AAA. I completely understand why GeOW 2 is getting AAA hype, because the 1st one scored AAA. I cannot understand hyping a sequel to a 6.9 rated game AAA. That just doesn't make sense to me. PS2 owners (I almost said the word "cows"...that would have been tragic) hyped Killzone AAA and even said it would be the "Halo killer". After the disappointment from Killzone, I just can't get why those same people would hype Killzone 2 AAA. And even if you loved Killzone, it doesn't make sense to hype the sequel AAA. I'm the same way about Fable 2. Molyneax hasn't worked on an AAA title in quite some time, and 360 owners (oops...I almost said "lemmings") are hyping Fable 2 AAA. And like I said earlier, it is very rare for a sequel to an average game to be much better. It does happen, but not often. And people are hyping a sequel to a "fair" title to be a "superb" title. That is quite a leap of faith.

gears 2 is in your sig so i don't think you have any place to judge there guy. i don't give a damn if that pile of trash original scored 9.6 here. that is by FAR the most overated mediocre pos i've ever played. someone should give ciffy b some lessons in good game design. ninjaxams

I make a thread saying how hyping a sequel AAA to a 6.9 rated game isn't exactly logical, and you mock me for hyping GeoW2 8.5-9.0 when the 1st one scored 9.6. :|

BTW...would it be better for me to have a Killzone 2 sig instead? I'd be mocked even more. :lol:

Im hyping it because its shaping up to be a great shooter game. Killzone 1 only scored a 6.9 because it was on a console that couldnt quite handle the graphics for it. Now Killzone 2 looks awesome from the gameplay videos ive seen for it, it looks to run very smoothly and have awesome graphics and gameplay all at the same time. And it will also be nice to have another AAA exclusive game on the PS3 as well.

You can't be blamed for hyping a game that is showing promise, admittedly I'm definately looking forward to it. I've read some negative things about the controls, but I have faith that Guerilla will in time make the appropriate changes.

If anything, Killzone 2 reminds me a lot of the last third of Half Life 2, which have the same feel. Those dark grey/brown levels with intense firefights and so forth. Hopefully Guerilla can pull this one through and get rid of that negative rep they got.
