Ps3 power is overrated

when the Ps3 came out, everyone thought it was so much more powerful than the 360, like x2 times more powerful. the polygon crap was funny, of course Sony spread lots of lies as always. the CPU is indeed the only advantage the Ps3 has over the 360, but somehow "we" are still blaming it on the LAZY devs when it comes to the inferior multiplats. when you have so many games that perform better on the Ms system, then it's not the devs' fault, but Sony's for making an arguably crazy hardware, a pain to develop games on.

So, why does the Ps3 have such beautiful looking games? the power of the cell? I don't think so. it's the power of the talented devs, which is something that Ms seems to lack. remember the ps2 how weak it was compared to the other systems? yet they were able to impress us with God of War 2, no one could ever imagine that the ps2 could push such graphics.

So when people say that the ps3 is like a Ferrari and the 360 like an average car, they're kidding themselves. over 90% of the games are multiplats, hence overall the 360 is winning in the graphics department, except for the exclusives' that they don't seem to care for much.

the techno buffalo guy said that the bluray is a big advantage for the ps3 and that dvd9 is even limiting the overall quality of the graphics on the 360.. I don't know how a support can make better graphics, but he may have a point.

I thin kthis is where alot of gamers stumble. A game can look amazing whilst not having great technical graphics. I own UC2, it sure is a pretty game but if you look close you start to see its faults. Textures for a start, some are truly awful but so long as you don't look close ( which you have no reason to anyway) the game looks lovely.

Yes it is powerful, and yes it does take a lot to get Cell and RSX to work great together, and yes Developers do not spend enough time, or resources to get the best out of it, and yes it will take time for Developers to use PS3 as far as it can go.

Stil, Xbox 360 has been out 1 year more!!! Xbox 360 is easier to develop for AND uses DirectX9c MADE from Microsoft itself for the Xbox 360... .... and YET it has take till Halo: Reach to get where it is at?!!who's fault is that?????

I think we've all known the PS3 is not 2x more powerful than the 360 ever since we saw how awesome the launch titles looked. Its all hype, if you believed it then its your own fault.

PC>PS3>360 i have them all and can say without a doubt the 360 could run UC2 and Killzone 2.

Overrated? I absolutely agree. It's still damn impressive though, with some of the stuff devs have released.

I've always been an advocate of the idea that 360 and PS3 are relatively similar in terms of performance.

Just Cause 2 looks mostly the same on the PC, the only difference would be the water effects looking better. And the usuall higher res and more AA. Just Cause 2 is a very good looking game for being an open world game, but just not at the lvl of uncharted 2 when it comes to graphics.

im comparing graphics of 2 different games. Fight Night Round 4 is certainly the best looking game ive seen this gen... i assumed thats what this thread was about.

if you wanna talk technical graphics... then thats a whole different can of worms... and rage pretty much takes that cake.

FNR4's only special graphical aspect is the 2 character models...other than that everything else cant even compare to the likes of U2, KZ2, GOw3, etc, etcshroofnayef

Almost anything from the year 2005 to now, PC games have better graphics. So far on Consoles, UC2 is still king, but Crysis 2, Rage, KZ3, and the other games might change that.
