maybe if they sell them for $20 or something.CaseyWegner
yeah....right
there is a better chance of finding WMD's in Iraq than sony selling 11 million ps3's
I doubt it, but hey anything could happen. Also don't forget that this is sony we're talking about here, the company that dominated the console war for the last 2 gens, so i think they know what they're doing, people tend to forget that.thejakel11225
People said the same thing about Nintendo before the N64 came out...
if they were the only system available, yes! but Nintendo and Microsoft will have some great games this holiday season. too much compitition out there, and if Sony really believes that they will sell 15 million by next march, at the rate the Wii is selling, how many systems will the Wii sell by next march?
with all the games coming out for the PS3 and 360 this year, I don't see either one really selling that much more than the other. Nintendo, well thats one hell of a phenomenon we are seeing here. I honestly thought nintendo was going to crash and burn like the gamecube(even though I still believe that it will hit the wall eventually), but so far, I'm absolutely WRONG!

Nintendo also had no real competition. Sony has had competition and rose to the occasion while Nintendo folded.

Sony also didn't exactly do it themselves. Nor do I think they did the lion's share of the work to sell those 220 million consoles. They relied a LOT on third parties, much more so than Nintendo or Microsoft ever did. That worked fantastically for them in the past, but now third parties are splitting their resources between the 360 and PS3, and, of course, the Wii is steadily pulling third party attention towards it.
.........We all know by the end of the year the Wii will sell at least over 10 million, the Xbox 360 will maybe sell over 13 million and then Sony will announce that 15 million PS3 have been Shipped .

Consoles are sold from license agreements. That's how the business works. The more support you get thet better off. That's why any console wins. That's why Microsoft and Nintendo lost to Sony. This gen Sony is putting out more first party games because third parties are too poor to deal with next gen development costs. That's why games are going multiplat. The winner of this gen will either be the PS3 or 360. After the price drops on those consoles it'll be like a second launch. You saw the results from the PS3 price drop. Then the Wii will be phased out due to it's inferiority and loss of it's only advantage... cost. You never see any Wii screen shots being touted on here unless it's a joke. That's because the Wii is a joke and only a limited noveltly. While the PS3 and 360 are here to stay and the battle rages on. When that happens the Wii will be forced into obscurity.
