I was just reading on another site that the Netflix will remain exclusive to the 360. I was just wondering if the cows felt left out since another interesting feature is not available for the Sorny. It seems like every few months this is happening. For instance, back in August, we had the JRPG 360-exclusive (or timed exclusive) invasion & now the Netflix exclusive. I wonder what's next?

Seing as I'm not a Netflix user and have my PS3 on the same monitor as my PC I can't say I'm realy bothered by this. But if I was I'd use PlayOn to do it.

Isn't Netflix also available via a PC, and other set-top boxes on the market? While it's sweet the 360 has it, it's hardly the exclusive way to stream Netflix to your TV.

My wife and i recently watched 3 seasons of Heros using the netfix addin. I would have never rented the show, so Netflix allowed me to see something i wouldnt have seen otherwise.

agreed, it sounds like we both though the same thing. I just wish Lost or B5 was on it too. There is the old Dr Who stuff, so after Heros I will watch some of them. There is also a lot of Anime.

So chalk up Netflix on 360 as a "nice to have", just like BluRay is to the PS3...

Wth? blu ray isn't a service for one, and I thought netflix also sends in movies through the mail, so you could just get blu rays mailed in...to be honest I'd rather watch movies in 1080P instead of a stream. If I wanted a stream I would torrent, because the quality isn't as good.

Why wouldn't you just use a PC or laptop to play netflix content? It doesn't even have to be that good of one to handle the stream.

In all fairness, can't you run Hulu from the browser on the PS3? PS3 has Hulu, 360 has Netflix. Thats equal to me. If you use PlayOn you can get YouTube, Netflix, CBS and Hulu on PS3, 360 or Wii so its almost a moot point to make.

PlayOn is a streaming service that depends on someones ability to know how to set up your PC and fire-wall settings in order to work. I think its best to judge features that are already built into the box (PS3, 360).

I like how the 360 is able to read ipod or itouch media and read the proper format. PS3 plays them to but you can't read the name on the song, which sucks.

I miss Fringe, House, and Terminator every evening but thank Hulu for letting me catch up to old episodes loaded the day after air.

LOL! Good point. It cracks me up when cows point out blu-ray vs netflix! One is a medium that includes nothing & the other is a movie service that includes movies for blu-ray, DVD, & stream. For the basic Netflix service, you get 3 DVDs/Blu-ray per week. The stream is extra! However, if you "prefer blu-ray", then you have a 48 hour wait for any movies to come in, and you only get 3 disks per week. Over the long haul, the 360 user will watch far more movies, TV shows, anime, than the cow would at that rate. Note that Anime doesn't really improve through blu-ray. You can't create picture from something that isn't there. Also, if I watch a stream & feel I want better quality, then I can order the DVD from Netflix. I'm afraid it's just that simple.

Hulu & Youtube streams are grainy. But the cow can knock themselves out with it. Let's face it, the PS3 world doesn't have a decent streaming service to speak of, just knock-offs & a little piracy. :)

Actually, arguing for BluRay, and in the same breath saying YouTube is better than Netflix is pretty funny. On the one hand, you have HD, the other, super grainy. Basically, the fanboys are saying that the resolution doesn't matter...

Come on MortalDecay... do you stretch in the morning before fanboying? Read anywhere that YouTube is the generational hit. There are tons of video game related topics and gameplay video that can last you days of entertainment. You can only watch what MS wants you to watch on 360. You said nothing about Hulu, smartly. TV shows for free with 4-30 second commercial interruptions. Media codecs. MP3 is audio, MP4, Avi, dvix "come on somebody."

I guess its down to your lifesty|e and preferences. I have BB Total Access, buy blu-rays, watch Hulu/youtube on my PS3. I don't use my 360 for media functionality at all, only for the games. But I do a lot more on my PS3.

[QUOTE="boyinfridge"]

[QUOTE="Jandurin"] It's a service that plays tv shows and movies? with commercials on the internets.Jandurin

This whole thread is just for the US because out side of that no one can receive netflicks on their 360 or Hulu on their PS3

To be fair, we outnumber you on this site. :P

Im just fed up with it when people say oh netflicks is a plus for the 360 and the PS3 has Hulu, I've even heard a salesman in a store using Hulu as a plus for the PS3 here in the UK because people see it on forums like this (that makes him the idiot by the way).

I don't know why the rest of the world has to wait months if not years for a service Americans take as standard from day one and dont say it licencing issues because they get it all sorted for America why not follow that up with Australia then Europe or something like that but no they wont. Why do we take this crap? I dont know.

sorry for the rant

Netflix allows you to stream, not download.
