Regardless of how much cows cry about it, Netflix is a pretty awesome feature for the Xbox360. I found at least 20 movies to watch. And about 6 TV series to watch. I didn't think I would enjoy Netflix on my x360 at first, but I'm really enjoying the feature.
Hulu is pretty neat for the PS3 too. It has a good selection of TV shows. Youtube on PS3 is too grainy for me.
I find it extremely amusing that lemmings bashed cows for talk of blu ray and how consoles are for gaming and not for movies. Now those same lemmings are hyping the heck out of Netflix likes its the best thing since sliced bread. Thats like the pot calling the kettle black.
Lets sum this up.
Blu ray is something that the ps3 uses to read media and you can buy high definition movies if you wish. Expense to customer is the purchase of movie (and I dont want to hear the bull about $30+ movies as a smart shopper you can get blu ray movies cheap if you know how to find deals. I have 26 blu rays and have only paid more than $25 for one and it was actually a box set of 3 movies. I usually pay between $15 and $20 for them.
Netflix is something that the 360 offers (360 doesnt use it for anything) You pay for the service if you want it (on top of paying for live) Its a nice feature, but it is not true hi def. It isnt that great in all honesty so I don't see why lemmings are hyping it so much.
As an owner of both, I can tell you that I will never use the netflix feature but will use the blu ray player for movies.
[QUOTE="SteezyZ"]Isn't Netflix also available via a PC, and other set-top boxes on the market? While it's sweet the 360 has it, it's hardly the exclusive way to stream Netflix to your TV.HarlockJCthere are boxes they sell which allow you to hook netflix up to your TV they are about $100.
Yeah but the boxes do not support HD. 360 offers the only way to stream Netflix in HD.
[QUOTE="Jack-o-Thompson"][QUOTE="Daytona_178"] Whats that got to do with the topic?Daytona_178blu ray > netflix They are completely different services.....lol @ ps3 fanboys! wow. Two different services, two different systems. Man i dont get the connection either Daytona. Its hard. hmmm. But, maybe... netflix...movies, blu ray.... movies... They Both deal with Movies!!!! Wow people are:|
[QUOTE="Jack-o-Thompson"][QUOTE="Daytona_178"] Whats that got to do with the topic?MortalDecayblu ray > netflix You're comparing a disc format that cost $30+ for each movie, to a service that costs a lot less, and has thousands of movies at your fingertips? I mean, Mooooo? Get real. Or us cows can continue to rent or BUY sd/hd movies using PSN. Do any of you non-ps3 owners even realise the PSN has a very large video store already?
Umm I have Netflix on my PS3.... I guess its just not as well known... Maybe not as easy but 360 users had it before NXE rolled out too...tomjoetan
Yeah, and 360 fanboys in this thread aren't listening. It's a bit of a lost cause.
It is very ironic that the main feature cows touted as the saving grace of the PS3 is ignored for downloadable content. If Blu-ray was the big bad beast to take over the world, why are all the moo moos streaming vids from the net?!?!? Doesnt matter what service you use (free vs paid), bottom line is that digital distribution was said to be a fad, Blu-ray all day, hooray!!!
Its very funny to read all the posts of the hardcore cows utilizing the future of entertainment (DD), on a piece of outdated tech (Blu-ray).

Well from what I understand you need to have your 360 syncronized with a PC to use the service anyway, you cant just use it strait off the 360...And I'd imagine anyone who owns any console these days also has access to a PC so if they really wanted to use the service theres nothing stopping them.

Im sure the early adopter who had Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem 3D all on one zip disk thought he had the edge with the industry trends. Sorry but Blu-ray is a intermediate solution that will ultimately lead to DD. Don't forget the fact that PS3 has a movie store. Where you can rent in HD and buy movies and tv shows.

And this Digital Downloads vs. Blu-ray war, seems really one sided in my opinion. In the favour of Blu ray. I live in Canada, where most if not all the major ISP now have this wonderful (/sarcasm) internet policy thanks to the mother f's at Rogers who started it. A bandwidth Cap. Its not that generous either, its 60GB for their high speed service and you have to pay 2 bucks per Gb you go over, including both upload and download. So if I wanted to watch an HD movie, thats 1/4th of my bandwidth gone just for this movie. Not to mention I download other stuff as it is besides that. And I remember reading a while back that many American ISP were thinking of implementing a bandwidth cap, thanks to Rogers genius idea. So until this sort of 'feature' of ISPs is eradicated and internet speed get faster (maybe something like this fast) and more accessible, then we'll see digital distribution become the norm, until then the mass majority like their tangible discs.
I'm not saying its not gonna happen, its just not gonna happen now.

There isn't even a DD vs Blu-ray war.
Like you said it's just not feasiable right now for any ISP to deal with it unless they will get a share of the profit. Basically every year internet usage is going up ~40% due to new users and innovative web technologies (ie: youtube, bit torrent). With that much increase in traffic ISPs are struggling to build up infrustucture to keep up. This is rather expensive especially in north america where there is so much more land mass to cover. this is actually partially the reason for the bandwidth cap.
Other than that, this is actually the thing I really don't get.... Do all you netflix users/supporters not have cable or something?? Pretty much every ISP also offers some type of cable service and some type of VOD. Its basically the same as netflix except it streams to your a cable receiver which i would assume sits pretty close to your 360. And its better!! There's consistent quality that doesn't depend on your internet connection and the selections just as good.
Who cares about streaming netflix. IMO it is total worthless. Why pay for streaming low quality videos when you can watch crystal clear bluray on a ps3. once again 360 is 1 step behind. Not to mention a step behind on every other piece of hard were in the 360.I was just reading on another site that the Netflix will remain exclusive to the 360. I was just wondering if the cows felt left out since another interesting feature is not available for the Sorny. It seems like every few months this is happening. For instance, back in August, we had the JRPG 360-exclusive (or timed exclusive) invasion & now the Netflix exclusive. I wonder what's next?

[QUOTE="SmokeyMcMuffin"]ps3 has blurayNedemiscause buying one movie for $35 is a much better deal then unlimited streamed movies for $9 a month how? PS3 has a Web Browser = Free Streaming from a ton of sites such as Hulu, Ps3 has Blu Ray, Ps3 HAS NETFLIX! Seriously lemmings, you've lost this battle, inform youselves. I've seen a ton of people using Netflix through their PS3.

Netflix is kinda meh. I mean if sony decided to do something smilar they could basically do it themselves. I mean **** they're basically a movie studio too; hello http://www.sonypictures.com/ . Means they already own the rights to a lot of movies or could attain the rights to stream more easily cause they're in the industry. Microsoft has to go through a 3rd party but if sony decides to do something similar most movies people want to see sony is the first party.
Ok so ps3 owners are cows? The movie renting capabilities on either system don't really matter to me because i already rent a local video store for better prices.cs45FIf you have found a video store that has better prices than $13.99 a month with unlimited rentals, and streaming, more power to you.
no offense but netflix isn't something that i need or care about and it should not even be hyped.. it seems as if lems are calling netflix great just because its on the 360. i could download movies plus get a blu-ray movie if i wanted so why do i need neflix??????sireclabornSeems to me the only reason you don't like Netflix is because it's not on the PS3.
Why would I want to pay money to get access to unlimited when I can download them for free using torrent?I have 45 movies in my PS3 HDD and it didn't cost me a dime...so yeah Netflix is useless to me.Rockman999The way you brag about being a common thief makes me wonder how you can actually embarrass yourself like that.

Being a blatant thief is downright sad. Not to worry tho karma has a way with catching up with people. I hope it won't be long until their catch your IP address and throw the book at you.
