ps3 selling at same rate as 360 *WORLD WIDE*

so if this sytem has no games, i wonder how much it will sell when they start getting the heavy hitters.

Right, but assuming the thread starter is telling the truth (which I don't know)...it's hard to bash the PS3 as flopping or dead when it's sales are the same as the 360.

the price stays high they just added 20 gig of space and stopped making the 60 gig so you still have to pay $600 because soon the 60 gig $500 one will be impossiable to find.

and why do you think that blu ray will win? 300 the highest selling HD/blu ray dvd of all time sold more on HD, and Transformers which will probably come in 1st or at least second in that list wont even be supported by blu ray.

so in reality the price isn't really going anywhere and XBOX is doing a good job at lowering their prices right with them,blu ray could emerge as the loser giving PS3 even less value, the press might stay bad or get worse because of this.

Plus XBOX has been out a yer longer so sales have slown down to really be accurate how are the PS3 sales for their first year compared to XBOX in their first year at the same time during their life.

Plus XBOX is shipping out thier flag game halo. that is bound to get the systems selling a little faster. Im sure there will be a lot of people picking up the xbox 360 and halo 3 at the same day.

xbox has been out for almost two years yet while PS3 has barely been out for one and xbox is still keeping up in sales. that is a really bad thing.

With Mass Effect, GTAIV, and Halo 3 360 will outdue the PS3 for the next 4 months. It's 2008 - onward that I think PS3 will surface the great machine Sony wanted to be.James_Lipton

Logically as time goes on the 360s sales SHOULD be increasing, not stagnating. Why do you think that people are criticizing it for flat sales growth?

No, thats incorrect, after the first couple to few months of launch sales will typically go down some but then increase as the price comes down, the library increases, or both.

Early adopters are only a small portion of any console's eventual customer base.

basically ps3 is repeating wat the ps2 did, coming into the market as a value blu-ray player (like the ps2 did with dvd)

360 is doing what the dreamcast did come in the market as mainly a games console. They didnt hire Peter Moore for nothing dreamcast was a great console but it just did pack in the games and technology to take on the PS2. The xbox 360 however packs in everything a gamer needs including games and technology. Sony should keep that in mind not every generation can be the same as the last.
