£1 = $1.60It's not THAT great of a price cut anyway, considering some places have been selling the PS3 at £280 anyway.BZSIN
Lowest is £275 so that makes this a £25 price cut. :?

[QUOTE="SuperBladez"][QUOTE="Senor_Kami"]More like $9.5 as the guy above said. And 18-21 the minimum wage is different so it's like 7.9USD comparison. and it's like 7.25USD = 4.30GBP, under 18's have a minimum wage of 3.53GBP. go figure. That guy also said minimum wage in the US is like $8, which is 100% bologna. It's different in all states which makes it harder to generalize sadly :? 8$ is from what I've heard and seen in some states. But the purchasing power is just about even in both countries all the same.You UK guys complain too much. You guys are sitting on piles of money. Minimum wag in the UK is like $12 while minimum wage in the US is like $6.50. You guys are Scrooge McDucking it up over there. Stop complaining.

[QUOTE="snakes3425"]At least the PS3 is now at a price that isn't as scary, while I'm glad the PS3 has finally seen a price cut, I can't help but wonder what's the catch?MortalDecay
Some features were removed, but nothing drastic. You can't install Linux on the slim model, and other small things.
What are these other small things?

For 280 you can get 2 blu ray movies and a game in a bundle pack.
So at 250, not only are you getting an uglier (no piano finish!) version, with less features, it would end up costing more once you buy software, when comparing it to the current PS3 offers available.
[QUOTE="hoosier7"]The Elite's now the same price i think.Wings_008it costs 224 GBP
More like £210. :P
cant you just buy one from america since the ps3 is region free for it... or not, i dont really know. im asking

The bundle you are speaking of consists of two games, one of them being severely crap, and one BRD. :P
who cares. the price is dropped. idk why you are moaning about this. ReaperV7Exactly. But some people are never satisified I guess.
[QUOTE="MightyMuna"][QUOTE="SuperBladez"] Yes.SuperBladezI'm pretty sure, everybody wants free money, free PS3, free everything, but for the sake of argument, lets be logical, a Wii is £180 and a PS3 is £250. just a £70 difference. honestly, which do you think is more of a rip off/overproced and what do you think is the ideal price for both items? Free this, free that. It's 70 frikkin pounds! / 115 Dollars! extra for the same product. The PS3 slim should be at least 210 GBP Maximum, 250GBP is laughable. sony are just trying to make some cash back by ripping off people who don't live in America.If you feel you being ripped off then just dont buy the damn thing. Why cry over something that does not affect you? I swear some of you people must not know how businesses work. Sony has to make some kind of profit on this thing. Too bad they just cant give it away for free huh? But then some of you will probably still complain.:lol:

It really is only a price drop of £25 in the UK when considering that the cheapest offer for a PS3 is £275.

That's not a fair statement whatesoever. The MSRP was 300 pounds, and some online sites lowered the price further. Now the MSRP is 250 pounds, and online stores still have the freedom to undercut if they wish.
There are plenty of sites that have had the PS3 selling for less than 399 for sometime. In fact, as has been reported here, over the last couple weeks there have been a few retail outlets selling it for $299. So, by your logic, there was no price cut mentioned today for the U.S. at all, right? :roll:
