PS3 slim Broke After a Month

I bought a ps3 slim in the end of october and after a month amazing gaming it stop working in last night.

The problem i'm having with it is that won't get to the xmb, when i start it up it just stays on a blank screen loading for hours.

Also it won't turn off, when i turn it off it goes to the black screen and the power light just blinks forever.

Can someone please help me.

Call SONY, pray for a miracle, or junk it.

take it to the shop and get a straight swap your within your rights to do so.

im the only person out my group of friends to have a PS3 YLOD on me and theres about 7 of us with PS3's im always the unlucky one i mean my old Laney guitar amp died after 5 years and it was working fine a couple days ago :(

its pretty rare just take it back and get a straight swap for a shiny new PS3.:P

Can you explain more specifically please? Was your PS3's fans blocked? Not Enough space to breath (1 foot long atleast) or did you like left it for 48 hours? Ratchet_Fan8

I left it on to download Beyoneta Demo for like 10 hours.

hold the reset button on the front of the ps3 til it turns off. Whatever you do, don't flip the switch in the back, that is how some people get YLODULTIMATEZWARRIO

When you turn it on do you see the ps3 symbol and then it lets you pick what user you want to play, or is it just a black screen when you turn it on. Also can you still hear music? It can just be formated to use a different type of video output then the tv you support, just turn off your ps3, hold the power button on the front and dont let go untill you hear it beat about 2 times i believe. What that does it reset the ps3 to standard setting so it will output on any tv.

If that doesnt work then i sugggest call sony, they will send you a box free of charge with 3-day shipping service. You should get your ps3 back in a week to 2 weeks.

I keep hearing more and more about the Slim models breaking. Now im worried about buying one.

If a PS3 failed on you, fair enough. Yet, why bring up the 2 previous consoles?

It's under warranty so just send it back to sony and get it fixed for free

Way to put a PS3 thread in the System Wars, clearly out to trying to start something here.

If it's a month it would be obvious to return it to the store for another unit, some might call that common sense.

You can recover your save files from the HDD, and the trophy info is stored online so you're safe.

Mod you can Close this thread.

Someone from the ps3 forum told me how to fix it.

I post this thread in system wars because i knew more people would see it unlike the ps3 forum where only one guy respond.

I did not intend this thread to become system wars material.

well you certainly did the right thing by creating a thread in system wars to complain about it ....and didn't even bother with the playstation 3 forum...a place where you could actually get help.... :roll: /facepalm @ uReaperV7
