I was hoping the PSP GO would cost less than the PSP 3000 but I was dead wrong. Will Sony pull another stunt with the PS3 slim?
What should they price the system at?

Didn't PS2 slims always cost more than regular PS2s? They at least have to go to $300, but I have a bad feeling.I was hoping the PSP GO would cost less than the PSP 3000 but I was dead wrong. Will Sony pull another stunt with the PS3 slim?

Look at the Pricing for PS to PSOne, and PS2 to PS2 Slim...that's better than Users on these boards.
For the record, the PSP Go has additional things, like 16Gigs of memory, so while I am not justifiying the price, comparing it to the SLIM models makes no sense. The PSP Go is a different product, and Sony will still be supporting the PSP3000 as well.
The PSP Go is like the iPhone or the DSi, overpriced products. Sony is allowed to jump in just like Nintendo and Apple does. If people want the Go, whatever. It doens't bother me, I'm not getting a PSP Go.
You have been making a lot of ANTI Sony threads, is that your game? At least do better with the next one. Being anti Sony is fine, as long as you got a strong case.
I really don't see the point of "slimming"...

I should know, I'm 390lbs, 5'1, and I'm in NY right now, eating a BigMac, while in my new Caddy.

Some Don't even want a SLIM PS3, because if the PS3 can lose weight, why not them? That's why I'm NEVER getting a SLIM PS3, but I would buy a Fatter PS3, if available.
PSP Go also costs less to make because of the removed UMD drive. I'm curious to see how it does. It's at a questionable price point, and really, you can buy any size of memory card you want for your 3000. And IMO the PSP Go looks like it came out of a happy meal.Look at the Pricing for PS to PSOne, and PS2 to PS2 Slim...that's better than Users on these boards.

Why so many gigs? I really want like $200-250 20 gig option. I know how to uninstall demos and games I no longer play.$349 wouldn't be bad for a 120 gig ps3.They can drop the 80s to $299 to help clear them out around the time it hits.

It's like the DSi, companies got to make their money, it doesn't bother me as long as I don't have to pay it. If the GO or the DSi had things I actually wanted, then I would be kinda upset about the prices, but as they are now, I am perfectly happy with my PSP and DSLite.

Oh, I'm sure it's a quality made device. This is just a matter of personal taste -- and mine is I wouldnt be caught dead flicking that open in public. The PSP slim and 3000 are the best looking handhelds I've seen. The PSP Go looks like a toy, not a multimedia/gaming device. It's smaller so Sony should price it at $599 US Dollars of course.... all the world will see it's value and buy it on name alone, they won't even need to have any games for it.

I'm british. So my applicable stereotype is that I am tight with money, and I dislike the idea of this product because it doesn't have a purpose over the old version.

I resent the portrayal of America as nothing more than Nixon-think coupled with 1980s hedonism. It's this kind of thinking that breeds a backlash of socialist youth, running with a new kind of nationalism that reeks of violence, stupidity and poverty. We're two minutes from financial oblivion, we haven't had a fiscally sound president in decades, and the next generation is busy being spun into fang-less interest groups by a political conspiracy in which "Democrat" and "Republican" both mean the same thing. - When the clock hits midnight, I'd like to think that America once represented an ideal more meaningful than a Big Mac. - The PSP Go! is a strange commercial ploy by Sony. The market has two devices - the iPod Touch and the DSi - which have similar features yet are more expensive, so they've risen to the price point, rather than dominating it. They're an odd player - they lack the library of applications, social image, and populist foothold to really make the device "work" - and yet they're trying. - Sony, charging more for a premium PS3? I wouldn't put it past them - at this point in the game, they're not going to win the market, no matter what they claim publicly, they have to know that. So, it's about profitability - and if they can get the Sony crowd to drop $499 on a PS3 slim, they'll do it. They're sure as hell not going to start giving it away.[QUOTE="SolidTy"]That's American's man, pretty typical. Jumbo Size this, Biggie Size that. I don't really think anyone can pigeonhole America, it's way to varied and diverse. It's all in good fun when speaking of slimming, I didn't have much material to work with, and sometimes you have to chance the material you got, even if a bit risque.
I hope your right about America's Legacy a few hundred years from now.

I'd like to think that too, but Big Macs are here to say, and they are yummy.Let's hope I am - I'm moving the topic over to OT to see the response... I have to hope some people believe we can be more than hedonists. On that subject, it seems like Sony is betting that we are, and it has backfired on them terribly. They simply have so greatly failed to create the "image" people need to drop hundreds of dollars on a product. They should take a page from Apple - the idealization of the common man is far more appealing than a vague elitism.I don't really think anyone can pigeonhole America, it's way to varied and diverse.
