This board has never and will never reflect reality. We are in a economic depression and the SLIM is proof positive of this, Sony had to drop sooner than planned. The $300.00 pricetag while attractive for those that really wanted one will not pull in any real impulse purchases. The Slim will not put Sony in second place this is already known by most with any common sense and slight mathmatical reasoning. At the store i work at they had come in on monday but they had 30 come in they sold about 16 so they have some left now after the weekend i dont know what to tell you. But overall its not selling the way on this board make out to be.

I just called 3 high traffic gamestops here in Atlanta and 2 of them had a good amount still in stock while one had only one left. So the PS3 Slim is not selling out like everyone wants to believe. The economy is too bad for most right now to just do an impulse buy. Now I do think though when holiday shopping time comes around the PS3 will sell very well compared to the competition. Just don't expect a huge boost until the holidays for the PS3 slim. People just don't have as much disposable income as they use to have with no jobs out there.
They should keep up with demand. Or are they deliberately running out to keep up the hype? Hmm...TREAL_SincePS2 launch *cough* *Cough*
PS2 launch *cough* *Cough* lol, yeah. i remember working at a store in the UK called PC world at the time of the PS2 launch. the customer had to call sony to have one allocated then we would be sent paperwork for their allocation. no allocation no chance of a PS2. but sony only sent enough stock to satisfy half the allocation we had. yeah LOTS and LOTS of angry upset customers[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]They should keep up with demand. probably just sony creating hype with tight supply at launch. only 12-13 for a new on at launch seems very limited.Ontainwell the console finally hit a price point that most consumers are willing to live with. The Wii's second biggest draw was it's price.
PS2 launch *cough* *Cough* Haha yeah, but maybe it works? If it keeps interest in the system sky high for months, I would call that a smart business strategy.[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]They should keep up with demand. Or are they deliberately running out to keep up the hype? Hmm...sexy_robot_man

If it keeps interest in the system sky high for months, I would call that a smart business strategy. It does work I agree with that, it allows them to say things like"we are trying to keep up with demand" or "Sold out at all retailers, new shipments on the way" The sad part is when the deviants try to sell them on Ebay for three times the cost and gouge parents that do not know how to say no to their children.[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]They should keep up with demand. It's a incredibly simple, common and accepted marketing tactic. Let's not overreact.
