ps3 sounds good on paper, when I actually got it, it was mediocre

I would say 360 and wii are 2 amazing consoles. I thought the ps3 would probably be the best, but when my brother got one, i stuck to the 360 and wii. Why? Well the ps3 may sound great on paper, cuz it is the most powerful and the best graphics. Also it uses blue ray instead of duel layered dvds. I played resistance and the 2nd and I found both no match for halo or gears of war. it didnt have as great graphics as I thought it would and its just not that fun. Also I was playing it on a 1080p HDMI tv. Killzone 2 I found the gameplay was terrible although it had amazing graphics.

Also the updates took forever and they were so frequent and there was much more hackers online on COD4 then 360 COD4. On my first 4 matches 3 of them had hackers in them. MGS4 was pretty good gameplay but its not enough action and way too many long cutscenes. I felt more like a movie then game and if u skipped them u would be lost in what ur supposed to do. Also MGS online i tried to download and i waited for an hour and it was at 2%. The only exclusives I enjoyed were Uncharted, Infamous and Motorstorm Pacific rift. Most of the third party game I didn't like as much as the 360 version because of slightly laggier online and the ps3 controller didnt feel as well as the wiimote or 360 controller.

The ps3 slim may be $300 and has free online, but it still can be the most expensive. First you have to either buy seperate compnent cables or an HDMI cable unless u already own a HDMI cable, but thats still cheap. Also if you don't own a bluetooth headset u have to get a bluetooth headset. The PS3 one I found was terrible becuz it vibrated in ur ears, but some other ones were okay. It was a small inconvenience that i had to charge the ps3 headset overnight all the time, but it was no big deal. The ps3 charge cord I wish were longer,but the ps3 controller hav such long battery lif that it doesnt matter.

I found a Xbox 360 Elite that came with all the things 360's come with, a wireless adapter, halo 3 and 2 other games for 329.99 canadian. Also it came with some xbox live (not sure how long though probably 3 months.) The ps3 slim is $300, then u have to buy either a HDMI cable or component cables which would be $25 dollars for components new and $40 new for HDMI. Of coure used is $20 for HDMI and $10 used, but I wouldn't get used cuz most of them dont work. Then you would have to get a headset which cost $50 (I foundmany that were more expensive)for the standard sony headset, but u can get a different one for $25, I'm sure at some places hav some sort of deal where uget 1 free game with ur ps3 slim buton the listings most say just the system. SO say u got a ps3 slim,$25 component cables,and a $50headset its 375 dollars with no games. Thats not bad but still the most expensive console on the market, but if they sold a bundle it would be cheaper.

PS3 is a good system and its fun at time, but its not as good as it sounds because the advantages arent enough to make developers make the ps3 versions better. even Modern Warfare 2 is demoed for 360 all the time. its fun but not amazing.

Ps3 has so many features that it sounds fantastic on paper and it is if your into all that more advanced stuff. However, if you just want a gaming machine, its easy to see how anyone would feel like they got riped off.

I do get that, people act like it's this jewel incrusted gift from the sky when all it really is is a 360 with a blu-ray drive and a bunch of features most people will never use. If you already have a 360 it's not worth the £250 (over $400) it still costs. The exclusive library is not really much to shout about either.

TC if you dont like exclusives games such as Uncharted, MGS4, KZ2, Resistance2, LBP, SOCOM, Motorstorm, Valkyria Chronicles, heavenly Sword, Rachet&Clank, Warhawk, Disgea,Infamous and many others along the multiplats.. then its not a matter of PS3 being mediocre, its just PS3 is not made for you..

If you are not interested in games such as Uncharted2, Ratchet&Clank, Heavy Rain, The last guardian, GT5, Gow3, MAG, Demon Souls, WKC & more... again its not that PS3 is mediocre its just its not made for you..

If you are not interested in watching BR movies, not having to pay extra for Online, not having to pay extra for recharging controllers, more reliable hardware, WIFi, many multimedia functions & more.... again its not that PS3 is mediocre its just not made for you..

Thats why we are lucky to have 3 great consoles on the market so we have a choice !!!

i for one loved resistance 2 more than halo 3 and i also enjoy lots of ps3 exclusives like infamous, killzone 2, unchartedand i get all my mulitplat games on the ps3 since psn is free

am not a fan of ms games and i do have an xbox360 but since all my multiplats are for the ps3 my xbox360 just collects dust and the only future game i am interested in is alan wake

so at least for me at the moment my ps3 is great and my xbox360 is mediocre

but thats just me and like i said ALL SYSTEMS ARE GREAT u just have to know what u like before u cough up the money lol

If you use to come to system wars, PS3 is the best system ever on paper. Thats the problem of the overhype imo

Everyone knows all third party games on both console have the same stability and if one of them might be slightly better it would be the ps3 (theres a few expections). Then u actually say those games dont compare to gears of wars 2, isnt that ironic? You complain the ps3 third party games lag a bit more then the 360s( a lie) but you praise the360s first party games when infact they lag more than any ps3 first party games. I remember when i bought my KZ2/MGS4 PS3 bundle from Best Buy 2 months ago. I took it out of the box, started hooking it up, then noticed that it didnt come with component cables!! My heart sank because i had only a short time frame to play it that day. So i rushed to EBGames and bought $20 component cables and was blown away by KZ2's graphics. Then i decided to buy a cheap bluetooth headset from EBay thinking that it would make playing KZ2 and LBP online more fun. But it didnt... I never even use my headset while playing online because basically NO ONE ELSE TALKS!!! Its just you talking to yourself the whole time.

And yes, i rented Resistance 2 2 days ago and beat it last night. Very mediocre game

The problem with the PS3 is that if you are the type of person to go to forums like this and read all the hype about the system you are going to be disappointed. When I bought my PS3 I didn't buy any games but eventually I got Resistance after reading the reviews and endless threads about how amazing it was. I was dissapointed after a couple of hours of gameplay.

So I tried a bunch of demos, MGS IV, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet and Clank and out of all those I thought Ratchet and Clank was good everything else I didn't understand why it was hyped except Ninja Gaiden but already played that on the original Xbox.

The PS3 has a solid game library but not amazing like most make it out to be on these forums and the online is nothing to brag about and I am not just talking features but community. If I didn't read about the hype I may have enjoyed the games more but PS3 fanboys build it up so much for people that it never lives up to that standard. Looking at attach rates and sales of games, I don't think I am the only one that feels that PS3 library isn't that great.

I almost feel bad for bashing ps3, the playstation franchise started dying with part 2# they didnt make any cool games like they did for the original playstation. I remember when ps2 first launched and and some months after they had ssx snowboarding game, ever since playing that i felt the industry was taking a turn for the worse. coolboarders on ps1 was way better than that casual ssx horse crap.smokedagoodyo
