PS2 > PS1 N64 > PS1Jandurin
I desagree:
PS1 > PS2 > N64
And i love those 3 systems

I have all three and I agree the PS3 has been pretty meh for me so far. I would recommend playing Uncharted though it's a great game, nowhere near what the Cows here will have you believe here but a great game nonetheless. Ratchet was alright I think it ran a little to long actually I was ready for it to end about 3 hours before it did. Heavenly Sword was decent but had a dated feel about it. Metal Gear for me was just mind numbingly boring I was not a fan going in and it did not change my mind. Little big Planet did not hold my interest as well but perhaps you would like the level building aspect as for me not so much. Oh I almost forgot Killzone 2 which is pretty graphically impressive but controls like a tank not my thing but I am a COD fan so maybe that is why. The game is great for showing the graphics of PS3 to someone that appreciates it. My Brother in law who is a real casual gamer was oh thats cool lets put in COD4 lol I thought it was funny. The Blu-Ray movies are what I use my PS3 for 80% of the time however and those are nice I got the Planet Earth collection and highly recommend that to show off your TV. The XBOX 360 seems like it will always be my default gaming system until the next XBOX though. I have a Wii as well but we don't talk about it.
Although I don't totally agree with the details, I do agree with your phrasing that on paper, the PS3 is awesome, but in practice, it's just another videogame console.
In fact, many aspects about the PS3 sound awesome, but in the real world, implementation falls a little flat.
Examples:
Trophies - Leveling, tiered structure to show the quality of the trophies earned. What's not to like, right? The problem is that they're not in every game. This feature was slapped on over a year after the console's launch. Also, the data isn't as dynamically updated. You have to do a manual update from the XMB, and manually update your portable ID on Playstation.com
Playstation.com - Only recently have they made improvements on the site to allow you to see your friends list. But why do I have to manually search and add games to build up my collection on the site? I mean, it tracks trophies easily enough. Why not the games? That's a head-scratcher. Can't even check your messages on the site.
At the end of the day, these aren't deal-breakers. The PS3 is still a great console. Sony just needs to reel things back a bit and think things through before they try to implement things.
360 sounded good until I bought one at launch and it lasted 8 months with no warranty it ended up in my local landfill. THEN contemplating buying a new one 2 months later another 300$ and this one has been to repair 4x now.
So please...PLEASE anyone complaining about PS3...QUIT already..
I really don't understand buying a PS3 for shooters, especially when you already have a PC or 360.[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="smokedagoodyo"]1080pOnly
I don't really understand buying a PS3 for anything but shooters...it is the large majority of it's exclusives and MP's.

And yet the 360 has been thriving despite its hardware failures. Obviously, there are things about the 360 that far outweigh this huge fault. Some of those things include the idea that the OS and all its features are very well thought out.
Another example.... the chatpad.
I think the 360 doesn't even looks good on paper.RedruM_ITake off the fanboy goggles and have a second look because it's the best gaming console on the market right now!
Take off the fanboy goggles and have a second look because it's the best gaming machine on the market right now! You are right! After looking closer I think it will look sexy on a shelf with those three red lights. I should buy two to spice up my room.[QUOTE="RedruM_I"]I think the 360 doesn't even looks good on paper.sexy_robot_man

Meh everysystem is mediocre, I had all three got rid of the wii cause there was a lack of upcoming realeases that interested me. 360 had a good first party when it first launched but as of late haven't been playing it cause nothing came out that caught my interest. Got halo wars it was fun for a while till i traded it in. Been rocking the PS3 because of their first party games Infamous and Killzone, things will shift back to 360 when halocomes out, then shift back to ps3 when uncharted comes out. Besides, the fact that its a 300 dollar blu ray player sweetens the deal to me anyway, eversince i got an hdtv been craving hd cotent. My one gripe with the 360 i had to buy the HD DVD add on for 100 bucks.

Looks okay on paper but that batarang thingy gotta go. :P

Damn, I forgot it was 10x more powerful than my home PC. Must just be lazy devs making the games look crap in comparison ;).
 Also what I noticed later; about the fifth paragragh talks about pricing expected to be about what the PS2 was new. If that had actually been the case - Game over 360 .... Game Over. :PPS3 is a singleplayer machine. It has good exclusive games with no multiplayer feature. There is no competitor that matches with Xbox Live Multiplayer Parties. LIVE is definitely worth 50bucks a year. If you are social and have many friends: Your choice should be Xbox 360. If you are alone and a singleplayer fan , Your Choice should be Ps3.
i'm half extrovert and half introvert according to the myers briggs test :o So, should I own both? ?!?!?!?!?!?!PS3 is a singleplayer machine. It has good exclusive games with no multiplayer feature. Buy Ps3 and play all exclusives, then sell it to buy Xbox360 and feel multiplayer experience for a long time. I have many friends that finished all good ps3 games and never played them again. Their ps3's getting dust on the shelf. My Xbox360 owner friends have never given up playing games because of multiplayer & coop.

I don't understand your arguments. I have owned a PS3 slim for 3 days now and a Xbox 360 for over a year and I can say the PS3 is as every bit as good of a gameing console as the 360 except for online features.
I got Uncharted, Resistance, and Fat Princess and I have been having an absolute blast with the thing. It has a beautiful OS (much better than NXE), much more customization, a great game library, then to top it off it has some excellent media features. It has recognized at least 20 different computers on my local network, including my own. I set my media shareing up and there isn't a thing on my PC that my PS3 cannot read. Its awesome.
WEIRD. My 360 sees my PCs fine, but my PS3 does not. I haven't really troubleshot it yet, but the 360 was automatic, and the PS3 is freaking blind :(I don't understand your arguments. more like an irritating problem. did you have to do anything to make it see your stuff?TC if you dont like exclusives games such as Uncharted, MGS4, KZ2, Resistance2, LBP, SOCOM, Motorstorm, Valkyria Chronicles, heavenly Sword, Rachet&Clank, Warhawk, Disgea,Infamous and many others along the multiplats.. then its not a matter of PS3 being mediocre, its just PS3 is not made for you..
If you are not interested in games such as Uncharted2, Ratchet&Clank, Heavy Rain, The last guardian, GT5, Gow3, MAG, Demon Souls, WKC & more... again its not that PS3 is mediocre its just its not made for you..
If you are not interested in watching BR movies, not having to pay extra for Online, not having to pay extra for recharging controllers, more reliable hardware, WIFi, many multimedia functions & more.... again its not that PS3 is mediocre its just not made for you..
Thats why we are lucky to have 3 great consoles on the market so we have a choice !!!
THIS!!!I can say the same about 360 sounding good on paper but then again my PC does all that and more. Which is somewhat why I'm disappointed by my 360, I love it buy I've got a PC and it does everything the 360 does plus more, c'mon MS start pumping those exclusives again!Solid_Max13Forza 3 & ODST are close at hand !!! :D
Forza 3 & ODST are close at hand !!! :D I knew it was inevitable I'm not a huge racing fan unless it's Burnout or Twisted metal or GTA in a Way and I don't really like Halo either, I want games that are exclusive not to be hating on the 360 or anything but it really needs to separate itself from the PC to be it's own gaming machine. But that said the arcade on 360 is amazing.[QUOTE="Solid_Max13"]I can say the same about 360 sounding good on paper but then again my PC does all that and more. We have a wise old sage among us......
Games wise both consoles are about equal. Ive enjoyed games on both systems quite a lot.
So it depends, if you just want games, and cheaply, the 360 is the way to go.
But if your a graphics whore, want blu ray, and other features the ps3 is the way to go. Definately.
NinjaMunkey01
And why would a graphics whore prefer a console where most games look or perform worse? :P
No. ok? now /threaddont you have to buy wifi on the 360? ya? ok /thread
Revolution316
Who seriously games online with Wi-Fi  I suppose if you have no choice, otherwise HARDWIRE! my PS3 is hardwired as is my Wii.
