Heavy Rain is hardly an adventure game in a traditional/classic sense, just like its predecessor Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) wasn't it either. Still, it didn't prevent it from being an enjoyable game, but I'm not quite sure what were you trying to put across...that'll happen in less than 2 months when Heavy Rain will be released. sighs

To be fair Heavy Rain isn't point and click, it is just click. Basically a giant string of QTE commands.
So the entire history of the adventure genre on PC is going to be negated by a game no one has played?
Right...
I put this down to Cows being graphics wh***s, it's not like they have any experience with the actual game play in Heavy Rain. The adventure genre hasn't exactly been one for pushing the graphics boundary on a machine, so for a game no one has played to be hyped so much; you have to look at what stands out about it, which is its visuals.
HR to me represents the pinnacle of what is wrong with console gaming. Here's a game that undoubtedly has a considerable budget, something that would have been manageable considering it's a cross platform game. Well, it was a cross platform game, Sony decided to interfere with that.
So now you have an adventure game with a large budget being limited to the 3rd smallest platform install base, a platform that does not have a considerable adventure fan audience like on PC. A big budget game limiting itself to the smallest install base which will have a small genre fanbase, brilliant idea!
Of course we know people won't be buying this game for the genre, they will be after it for the visuals. So you are going to get FPS and Action fans picking up this game for the eye candy; only to find the genre doesn't appeal to them.
It will be interesting to keep an eye on Heavy Rain. Undoubtedly it will have allot of fanboy posturing on release, but I wouldn't be surprised if post-release feelings for the game will be quite different.
you hermits are just jealous...aia89Jealous of what? THey have much much better looking games than heavy rain. I mean I Just upgraded my PC and Fallout 3 blows console versions out of the water. Hell Crysis on High Looks damn good.
Wow, a legendary post! I couldn't agree with you more! You hit the nail on the head.So the entire history of the adventure genre on PC is going to be negated by a game no one has played?

You think Heavy Rain is high enough quality to beat the dozens, no HUNDREDS of amazingly high quality adventure games on the PC?Vandalvideocalm down folks its just one guy who's overdosed on hype. It has the potential to be a phenominal game, but thats all it is right now..potential.
A Cow who is high on crack to notice what is gonna happen. Its not gonna sell that greatand like someone else said the genre is not popular on consoles especially on PS3 with the lowest install base and is notorious for not selling alot of copies of its games. But good luck wit theshrooms just to let you know the walls melting and the aliens your seeing are not real just like this topic.
