Are you guys cerial?yes ps3 IS A GAMING SYSTEM its getting some bells and whistles,which is nice but the Playstations main priority is gaming were still getting the games but were just focusing on what the new firmwire update will give us and how cool these features are DO NOT! complain about PS3's lack of games,its not helping games because if we did it wont fast forward time,these are just some features PS3 is getting while we wait for MGS4 blah blahÂ

Upscaling the PS2 library is an awesome addition.
Also, purchasing a seperate upscaling dvd player would cost an extra few hundred dollars. I know you might say it's all about games, but with the PS3 I have a box that can do everything in terms of entertainment. T=
There is nothing to do tomorrow, a lame update with no new demos and a beta for warhawk that only some people get to play..I get to wait till next week hoping for some demos...

The PS1/PS2 game upscaling definitely enhances a major PS3 selling point to me. I just hope that it doesn't result in certain games notorious for slowdown being even worse in that regard...

Because it's only been 6 months from launch, and it's easyer to put out updates then games at this point.
All i know is that if they keep puting out updates like this and when the games finaly come out, the PS3 is going to be a kick ass all around gameing console, and i will be geting one. I better start saveing, and pray they do a price drop this or next year.

Nice, you can play PS1/PS2 games upscaled on your 360. Make that 10 Million and 1 sold.Â
It won't print photos. Your printer does that and unless you have a good camera and printer then the photo prints will suck anyway. It really is a useless feature. Why would I transfer photos from my computer to my PS3 to print them? That adds just another step in the whole process. Redunduancy for a reason is one thing just to add some pointless feature that my laptop can already do is... how should I say this... uh, moronic!

Indeed. The feature list is ever growing for the PS3, but I'm gonna wait to buy one until at least five games are out that I must have....Which, if MGS4 is this year, will be relatively soon.
I'm a little confused on the upscaling thing, so you can't tell the differnce unless you have a HD tv or will it not work at all? I just own a regular tv, so will it make a big differnce for the PS2/PS1 games cause thats pretty cool IMO.

It has everything to do with what I posted. DR is an updated version from 5 with new moves and different balances throughout the game. Plus new characters within the roster and more customizations. Sorry to inform you, but it has nothing to do with the PSP. It's a direct arcade port. And Tekken 5 even after the upscale doesn't even touch what DR looks like. Sorry. :(

My TV only supports 480i but has a component input. However, trying to watch anything in HD won't work. Upscaling to HD quality simply can't be done on SDTV daisy-daisy.

Okay doke. Glad that's all cleared up because I didn't know that answer. But I'm not a SDTV owner, but an HDTV owner. And my PS2 games look hot again. Really excited about this upscale thing. And DVD's? Freakin nice. And -finally- the whole 720p Blu Ray issues is resolved. I can watch my BR movies in 720p. Very very nice of you Sony!
Nice update. I'm just worried that by the time I save up $600 at one time for the PS3(darn bills cutting into my PS3 savings), that I'll get an Emotion engine-less unit. I'm sure their software emulation will be better then the 360s since the power gap between the PS2 and PS3 is much larger. However, I'd rather just have the chip and not really worry about looking at a website for PS2 compatibility
