The 100$ is a good start but they need also better games.Whats a console without games,If you want cheap entertainment get a wii,Simple as that.

But if you want something better you get a x360 or a PS3 but with the actual line up people rather get a x360 than a Ps3.

Also they need to improve their marketing strategy,Those ads suck and placing Ps3 in Walwart with nothing but Random Videos about Flying Cowboys doesn't help to Improve your image.IMO they should focus on a New PSP redesign,The handheld market is huge they should start there.

Well lets see we got

Wii a Cheap Console with games for everybody.

Then there is the x360,This Gen standard.The hardcore choice,Even when I dislike the word hardcore.

Then the Ps3 which suppose to be the best console.

Now Wii and the PS3 compete in a different level since parents rather buy the kids a wii so scratch the PS3.

Hardcore like FPS,RPG and all that stuff

So they have the PC which is excellent but pricey.

In consoles the x360 because they believe the wii is teh kiddy and the Ps3 still doesn't have good exclusive games.

Even if the PS3 gets a price drop,X360 gets all the cool stuff.

A hardcore gamer would go for the games,Even if both are at the same price If you want game you would go for a x360 if you want a blu-ray player you get a PS3.

Unless PS3 gets good exclusive the x360 will still kick its ass.

The price cut was a good beginning but without games it would be futile.

Company's normally wait over a year to drop the price because production price's drop, and they can afford to charge less. Sony was losing a lot of money on the PS3, and they drop the price already could only mean more money lost.

Not necessarily, quite a few components in the PS3 cost a ton when it first released due to scarcity and with the removal of certain hardware components as well PS3 may still be selling for a loss, but not nearly as large a loss as we think.

By roughly 40K in month over month sales, the PSP dropped in price late April so May is the best indicator of immediate effect though we'll see if that continued through June.
