PS3 to Surpass 360? Here Is What It Will Take

Well there are a lot of people out there that have been wanting a ps3 since launch but haven't had the money....and plus this is the slim model, not just any ps3, i even think the slim will surpass even the wii in sales, at least for a while, oh and now the ps3 has a good library, so there's no reason not to sell great.

Sorry but, looking at the opening which uses actual evidence, how likely is the PS3 to pass the 360? I'm just not understanding the logic, I'm sure there are a lot of people who wanted a Wii or a 360 but refuse to buy them at their current price. Baiscally, they exist but its not an argument. And this great library. What exactly is so great about it that people couldn't pass it up? I'll get ripped up but the PS3 library is a carbon copy of the 360 library bar some exclusives. I don't see how the library is that big a factor. Its sold not great even with the "great" library, what has truly changed to overcome this wide a gap besides a hundred dollars?

Impossible sounds more realistic than unlikely because I can actually say that the PS3 will not start selling at wii levels. The simple existance of the 360 and the Wii prevents that. The PS3 lacks the software to spur the type of sales it needs to sell at that level and its most likely never going to get it. the user bases are split among gamers, perception is split. Its impossible for the PS3 to sell 50 million units in less than 3 years, this isn't even an opinion, this is almost undebatable fact being held back by slight almost none existant coincidence. Its not unlikely, its almost unheard of.

I'm almost positive because of the reasons why the wii sold and is still selling. It sold like that because it captured the imagination of the public, it was significanly cheaper than the competitors and it was able to appeal to many demographics. The PS3 doesn't do any of that. The PS3 lacks System selling franchises like the Wii has, the PS3 hasn't done anything to make itself stand out from the competition. All its done is try to copy and refine what the competiton has already accomplished. Its not capturing any new user base and the one its targetting is spread out to the point where it can never achieve the status of the PS2. I'm not basing this off of my opinion only. I'm basing this off of why the consoles are in the positions they are in now and nothing the PS3 does will change that bar a huge innovation which just isn't coming from sony.

Well i think its possible, difficult but possible.

I was looking at a sales chart and saw that in a two year period. the PS3 sold slightly more than the 360. This window was from 360 launch to two years later and the PS3 launch to two years later. One of the reasons for Microsofts lead is its one year early release.
