PS3 to win by 2009!!!!!

I did some calculations and came up with the assessment that the PS3 sales will rapidly increase through out next year. The reason for this, i believe, is beause the PS2 will be moving on to its 8th year on the market. You will see that the amount of games being produced for the system will massively decrease, thus enticing them to buy a next gen console. The PS3 already has a large lineup of games on the way in 2008 and there are sure to be more. The competition on the other hand have not yet confirmed a very large selection for the next year, instead they are putting all their eggs in their basket this year. Also PS2 owners will se that the PS3 is getting some of the franchises that they have grown to love over the years, like MGS4 and GT5. 08 is a key time for the next gen and it seems like Sony has already taken it by storm. :Dsnorlaxmaster

By 2009 there will be so many Wii's in this world the french will have to change its meaning due to epic confusion.

The PS3 can't even beat the X360. Its got no chance in hell of beating the Wii.

It's funny because every month that goes buy its taking longer and longer for the PS3 to win. For instance the beginning of the year it was, well at the end of 07 PS3 will win. Few months in it changed to, "at the begining of 08 PS3 will win". About a month ago I was seeing people say at the end of 08 PS3 will be the clear winner.

Nowthis is the first 09 post. If Wii can sell like this without titles, imagine if they get titles. PS3 is selling horrible without titles, it hasn't proven it can sell with great titles yet though. That's the key difference. PS3 can win but it will take a lot of price cutting and unqiue games/add ons to attract people away from the cheaper/waggle control Wii.

If by "win" you mean "outsells the 360 to secure second place", I guess it's probable if Sony continues to cut prices and secure more worthwhile exclusives. Nothing is touching the Wii anytime soon though.

In order for PS3 to catch Wii, it's going to have to outsell it by an average of 352,941 consoles per month. PS3 would be lucky to sell that much in a month total, much less beat the Wii by that amount.
Conclusion: Not going to happen.

Im not a Fanboy, I own a PS1 and PS2, and plan on getting a PS3. But you cant just make up a theory and say the PS3 will suddenly start to sell like crazy.

Resident Evil 5 has been pushed back until 09 so that counts in my book.

Their biggest market its not JPN. In order for PS3 to beat X360 because of JPN then it would have to destroy X360 in month to month sales worse than what the X360 is doing to the PS3 over here. PS3 is only ahead by 600,000 units in JPN and behind 6,000,000 units over here.
