PS3 turning out to be a bad purchase??

I'm not trying to start a flamewar or anything, I'm just stating what I've been noticing.

It seems that the 3 big exclusives hyped for this holiday season have not lived up to their standards. Heavenly Sword and Lair have not been getting praise from the major gaming sites. Warhawk seems to be the only good game for PS3 owners this season. Do any of you regret purchasing the PS3 so soon and not waiting? Granted when MGS4 and FF13 comes out, there will be little to nothing that can compete but thats still a good half a year away.

While Xbox360 owners will be playing BioShock, Halo3, and Mass Effect. What will PS3 owners be playing (exclusives)?

Because Zipper isn't developing it. Slant Six is, and they've had no experience with Socom.

I was planning on getting a PS3 this year with Folklore, Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted. All of those games look really good. I never cared about Heavenly Sword, Lair or Warhawk. Even though Warhawk has been good reviews..I still don't plan on getting it. Anyone who hyped Lair seriously needs help. That game had failure written all over it. Only thing about the game that looks good is the boxart.

The big three quality wise going in for most people were probably Uncharted , Ratchet , and Heavenly Sword ........... plus Warhawk just scored great which I ecpected it to. Haze looks pretty good to. Just because Lair didn't work out is not the end of the world.

Nah, I played some of it and enjoyed it. Look at it this way, at least I didn't put Red Steel down on the Wii list.

Yeah it's still a great purchase. Nothing we can do about reviewers, although HS imo has a shot at least AA. Warhawk is an excellent online experience imo, and really Warhawk, HS, and Lair weren't the only three games. We also got Ratchet and Clank (Series has always been high AA or even AAA), Uncharted (Which looks very good imo), Socom: Confrontation (Another great online experience like warhawk for ps3 owners to look forward to), Haze (Now Ps3 exclusive, fully), and Gran Tursimo 5 Prologue. I think that's quite enough ps3 owners will be able to play for this holiday season 07', and in 08' obviously we have the even better titles coming out and a multitude of them. Shaqneel

I'm playing Tekken 5 online right now.

Theres a ton of games too back up the PS3, I dont think Ill be worring about two games being flops (Lair/Heavenly Sword)-Sir-Poof-

Say it an't so. Anyway, I agree that Lair, Heavenly Sword and Warhawk didn't live up to their "AAA" hype, but at least 2 of these games are still worth a purchase. I'm still getting Heavenly Sword eventually. I've played the demo and I like it. Simple as that. PS3 owners still have UT3, Haze, GT5 Prologue, R&C, Uncharted & Folklore to look forward to. So even though it's not the killer lineup that having MGS4, FFXIII, GTA IV, LBP& GT5 would be, there are at least a few titles worth a purchase.

None of these games were hyped as "AAA", which means technically, none of them were a FLOP. Even though with BD low 6.0 score, I would say that was a flop. Not sure what game Game Informer or TeamXBox were playing.

if you go by what the ps3 has out right now.....its hands down the worst console available to purchuse

no AAA-caliber exlcusives

anything amazing (ie. AAA) out right now for the ps3 is already available on the 360 - a console that is $200 cheaper

the majority of multiplats play BETTER on the 360

its just a terrible purchase right now

i'd wait until it at least gets some AAA exclusives

and looking at what the ps3 has got coming.....thats not going to be for a while

How do Warhawk (AUG 28th), Lair (Sept 4th) Heavenly Sword (Sept 12th) have anything to do with the holiday season? Nobody is hyping summer games as big holiday titles.

Labor day is not the holiday season. Christmas is the holiday season. The PS3 "holiday" games are all coming out Nov-Dec.
