Microsoft gives you a free replacements with a 3 year warranty. It only took me 3 weeks to get a replacement & it has already lasted over 1 year without a single crash. I'm hoping it'll crash again so I can get another one with another 3 year replacement & that I can keep playing the Xbox 360 for free through the lifetime of its production. What kind of warranty does the PS3 have? At the end of 3 years, it might crap out on you & then you have to go buy another one at full price since your warranty is used up. The unstability works out because Microsoft will openly take care of the problem for you. I'd like to see Sony be able to do that. Instead the delaystation will die when the warranty is gone & then you can buy another one. Go you.
The instability of the 360 works out because MS has a 3 year warranty that pertains to only the RROD? And the warranty doesnt renew after every refurb, but 3 years from date of purchace. How about stability works out, huh?
I've never once heard anyone try to justify the 360's faultyness yet try to degrade the PS3's reliability. That's a new one.
It totally works out. The warranty is on the REFURB, not the date of purchase! You get a new unit, it's guaranteed 3 years. I already asked them about that. Just like when my Shure ES3 earbuds died, a $180 value, they died twice, each time the replacements were given a new 2 year warranty & they were replaced by Shure without incident. If the Microsoft warranty wasn't so long and the return time so quick, plus it being a free process, I'd have something to be unhappy about..but this just isn't the case.
Regretfully, this second Xbox 360 has been very stable. No crashes, no hangs, nothing! :( Perhaps one more year of use & then I expect it to break so I can get Softy to send me another free one. Don't cost nothing, except a few weeks of my time, which I can use my PC for gaming & be just as happy.
Unless you prove me wrong with other than he said, she said - I dont beleive the 3 year warranty goes to every refurb. Me, and everyone I know understands it as 3 year from date of purchase.
But go ahead, prove me wrong, seriously, I hope you can, lol.
