look if xbox came out before ps2 it would lead for a long time....same here if ps3 came out before 360 then it would have be in the lead always until new console.....many ppl wanted ps3 but because 360 had a 1 year head start nobody could wait so they rushed and bought the 360.....so maybe if both came out in the same month then probs ps3 would win.................you cant compare a console a year after sales to launch sales.....
planbfreak4eva

Yes you can, and YES YOU SHOULD.

You're right in that a 1 year lead is a big factor... which is why MS worked to launch one year previously. You can compare launches aligned if it makes you feel better... it just doesn't mean anything. At all. It's like comparing the density of a duck to wood. Have fun doing it.

I'll just make a comparison that will give me some information that has an use.

And once again, even then, the 360 would be beating the PS3 if both had launched at the same time. the 360 never dipped below 120k between NA and Japan... and the PS3 has two straight months of doing so. What IS your answer to that?

there was only 360 on sale....so everybody bought it......if 360 and ps3 were on sale on the same day i can guarantee you that more ppl will go for ps3.....and again i will tell you that ps3 was and still is leading those 8-9 month of sales from launch compared to 360s from launch........

[QUOTE="planbfreak4eva"]http://blog.compete.com/2007/03/26/xbox360-wii-playstaion3-demand/ compare the sales at launch of the 3 systems.....and you will understand what am talking aboutplanbfreak4eva

i don't get this thing. ps3 and wii weren't launched till november 2006 and they have their sales stats on august 2005?

And this is what they call "proof":lol::lol:

go on the net and find the sales yourself then...you know its true and i know it and everybody else knows it

and your point is? X360 has still sold more, and is still selling better, except in Japan.

my point is ps3 is selling better than 360......and am comparing the amount sold of xbox360 from launch till june 06 and ps3 from launch till june 07....and in those 8 month ps3 has been selling more.........ok until now 360 sold more because its been out for longer time but by february or so the sales will be like 9mill for ps3 or even 10...thats my whole point

And you are using a huge amount of unproven "facts" to try and make us beleive it. Get something that is believable and then we shall listen to what you say.

this facts were on gamespot and ign before...i dont have to prove nothing to anybody....there is internet for that stuff and if you want to search then search...bit i had enough already

The facts that you are stating were never on ign or gamespot. What instead was on the two sites was the poor launch of the ps3 and the amazing sales of the wii. Also, please, when you reach the age of 18 and go to university, do not write an essay and say "but it was on the internetz" to prove a point.

those sales figures you've all been looking at are the sales in north america the ps3 is currently outselling the 360 in europe ,asia (an emerging market) and japanmuff07

I'd love to see these accurate European figures, wasn't aware there was such a thing.

I think all the numbers really need a closer look. Ok the 360 has shipped or sold over 10 million. Ok now how many of these units are replacement units of broken systems. Say 40% of this number is just to cover these replacement units now that brings these numbers down to about 5.5 millionunits that are actually in homes now after a full year. This because Microsoft will neveradmit to the true percentage offailure units or replacement units (this is from there corp. leaders) they will never issue any numbers that can be used to see what really is happening. So even if Sony has only sold maybe 4 million units in ashort time it only means that Sony has almost caught up with in home units already. As for game pre orders are this actual retail orders or is it orders to make sure there is enough in stock for retailers when it is released. Just a theory for everyone hash out a little.

The thing is, it isn't. It did outsell the x360 after 2-3 months, but not anymore.

Oh, and if you wish to play the "only console available" card, I'll see that and raise you a "it was heavily supply constrained for at least three times as long as the PS3 ever was" card. See why your little launches aligned folly is utter nonsense? too many variables that are too hard to estimate make the two situations impossible to compare in any way that gives you a modicum of usable information.

Thing is, those units don't count. They don't go through the usual market pipeline, and thus are not accounted for. Also, take into account most of those units are REPAIRED, so even if your little conspiracy theory was right... you'd be mostly wrong.

Why even respond to someone who has clearly made things up out of his head without presenting any factual information? Don't waste your time.

I'm bored, not sleepy, and it's a great way to practice my english typing (English ain't my first language).

That's pretty much it.

Plus, it's kinda fun, in a twisted way.

woa, there have been lots of faulty 360s, but the number is nowhere near 40%. And also, those replacements come from microsoft and are not included in sales numbers.

Also, there was an article on ign or gamespot just the other day that last month x360 outsold ps3 by almost double. Wii dominates them both in sales every month even with the shortages.

You cant blame microsoft for getting a year head start, it was a good strategy and is obviously paying off. They have almost 4 times the number of consoles in homes right now, and the sales numbers show the lead is growing.

Anyways, I have all 3 consoles, I admit I like my x360 more than the others. Ps3 comes in second, my wii collects a lot of dust till the good 1st party games comes out.
