I'm sorry that you're misinformed...you can put any 5400rpm sata laptop hdd into the 360 :)
While it's possible to do that it's not recommended and it's not approved by MS. You are taking a big chance that they will at the very least void your warranty. Something you need with X360.
It will void the warranty....on your HDD...which isn't really needed since you're putting a new one in it in the first place. As far as the rest of the system, warranty's still good.
I seriously doubt that... Third party accessories or your own MODs are not accepted by MS period. You are saying if I MOD an Xbox with a faster DVD drive that would mean only my DVD drive isn't covered under warranty? Sorry but that's not the case. Also the last thing you want is Microsoft to cancel your X-Box Live account. No hacks of any kind allowed on XBox Live.
It's okay to mention it's possible, but acting like it's 100% legit is just going to get people in trouble.
The only problem with that kind of thinking is that the DVD drive is inside the system and the HDD attaches to the outside. When i had to send my 360 in they specifically told me not to send my HDD. So as far as system repairs there's no cause for concern.
