PS3 vs. Xbox 360?

Difficult to say. I tend to prefer them at different times depending on the games.

if you are a casual gamer,who wants to play halo and cod online with friends and dont mind 2-3 week repair times grab a 360 elite bundle, if you want high rated excuses, free online and great mutiplats grab a ps3

You can't play multiplats on the PS3. Most of the time they are broken like Bayonetta. The 360 is the true home of multiplat gaming.

Most of the time they are not broken, they just look slightly worse (and in very few instances, remarkably worse).

Multiplats such as FFXIII, RDR, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Bad Company 2, ACII, AC, Batman: AA, Dead Space, Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, etc, etc all play almost identically across the two platforms.

The differences are, that some look slightly better on one console over the other.

There is no such thing as a $500 PC that can run games well. It simply doesn't exist. If you want to argue about that then go right ahead. I've been building PCs since the mid 90s so I know quite a bit about that.

But let's say for arguments sake that you somehow can build one for $500, that still leaves you spending $800.00 to compete against the $299 360 Slim.

It makes a lot more sense for him to just spend the $299 on the 360 Slim. Everyone knows that.

It's been proven a number of times on SW. If you were here and just choose to ignore it fine, if not, then that's not my problem.

We're not arguing the implications of cost here. We were arguing exclusivity, and how neither theMass Effect series, nor the Fable series are exclusives. Whether you like it or lump it, that's the way it is on System Wars.

If you plan on playing online more than go for the Xbox360.

Get a PC that can play games. get a PS3 if you want your system to last....Dogswithguns

Of which, I absolutely agree with you, they are definite points for the 360, and you are correct, on all fronts, about the PC gaming remarks (though you could no doubt spend $2000 and end up with a GTX 480 and an i7 etc etc).

It is a difficult one to answer. People who knew me would say due to my day time allegiances to Microsoft that the XBOX360 would sit atop my list. But I would say that the PS3 edges the XBOX360 out, only because I can sit in bed, with my PSP and stream TV to it without disturbing my wife. That alone is enough for me to say I like the PS3 better.

I think he's saying that you don't need a 360 to play the best games that the 360 has, while you do need a ps3 to play the best games the ps3 has.

Additionally, I feel that the PS3s library makes the 360s look lackluster even if you don't factor out Multiplats. So, there you go.
