It also got MLB The Show which is AAA and very easily argued as an "exclusive", it also got Ninja Gaiden Sigma which scored a 8.5. I swear the only worthwhile game I remember the PC getting is Total War (8.5)

It definitely did, we had so many great exclusives come out whereas the Xboys have the same old Halo stuff since the beginning.

PS3 is evidence that if you drown a product in billions of dollars, with no care for the consequences or the long term, that you can artificially manufacture it's success. $4.7 billion in losses; that's allot of bought exclusives, marketing and units sold at a loss to encourage install base.

Of course the trick is actually making a profit on the damn thing, how many years will it have to run to be a worthwhile investment; if ever?

It's hard to argue against the super high quality games for the ps3 this year. Every one of those games feels like an absolute must play game in their genres. Those games aren't just numbers on a spreadsheet to boast about , but games to go out and play ASAP.

I think the Wii is actually the second best console of the year .... the solid games run pretty deep and there's pretty good variety there. I think they collectivelybeat Forza 3 , Halo 3 expansion , and GTA IVcompilation of episodes.
