I was wondering, is it possible to connect a 360 controller to a ps3 with some sort of adaptor? Because my hands hurt after playing an hour or so with the dualshock. I'd like to try Killzone without cramps.

Ducati20

There is medicine for that. better add that to the price of the PS3. :P

Or maybe we doing right but are hands too big for the controller? The xbox controller fits to my hand and the analogs are more than an inch a part.

You said you are 5' 7". I'm 6' 3" and the controller is fine. My hands never get cramps or any other fake conditions I see people make up.

I agree, i am 6'0 and love my ps3 dual shock3. ... been using ps controllers since the ps1 and I was 20 years old back then in ps1 era. The controller is fine. I think people have some insecurities, constantly bring up how they need a big controller for thier big hands blah blah blah and how "the xbox controller is manly" yeah ok... it's a peice of crap. Every one of you lems always brags about the triggers on the 360 controller... I can't stand them.... i am used to using my pointer finger for shoulder buttons, on the 360 controller you have to use 2 finger for each side shoulder buttons, on the ps3 I can move on finger to either as they are on a level plane and not off aligned like the 360 shoulder buttons.

I've always found the DS controllers to be poorly designed outside of the D-pad. I really don't like the (literally) tacked on analogue sticks.

Edit: I totally can't spell

Guybrush_3
whats wrong with the controller? Its been the same design for over a decade and no one ever used to complain about it untill the lemming nation arrived. You guys jumped the gun and bought a 360 first and now you think that is better...its not. The ds3 is tried and true tested it works and works well across EVERY genre not just fps...but again i don't like the 360 triggers at all. . give me L1 Iron sites, R1 Fire , R2 Weapon switch and L2 Nades any day.... using L1/R1 for fire zoom is so much faster it just works great!

Really?

Your using the controller wrong if your putting 2 fingers on each side to use LT, LB and RT, RB. I never even knew that some people tried to use the controller that way.

As a gamer for over 20 years who has played almost every system ever made, I can say with 100% truth and honesty that the 360 controller is the best game controler made so far. thats all fanboyism aside, whether you love or hate whatever system, you should be able to see this fact clearly. The only gripe is that the d-pad is garbage

You guys accused us before of doing it wrong. I didn't think it was possible. But you actually are. 2 fingers on the back of the 360-controller is uncomfortable, and I, along wiith pretty much the rest of the 360-userbase, move the finger from button to button.

The DualShock Controller is simply perfect for me, The xbox controller is a shooter centered monstrosity, how im I supposed to play fighters and racers with that?AgentA-Mi6

Actually, i think the 360-controller is a lot better for racers. The triggers are curved inwads, so you're finger doesn't slip at the last lap, and the controller is much more comfortable, meaning the endurance races are less of a pain.

i think the xbox controller is more comfortable and its better for fps games,or 3rd person shooters ,but for fighting games and games that need a d-pad dualshock is the best.

it would be the perfect controller if they putted the ps3 dpad in the xbox 360 controller :)

The 360 controller is just a Rip off the playstation controller with skittles buttons. The only difference is that the 360 controller needs batteries like a fisher price toy.

MegajerkNYC

Ever heard of the Dreamcast? Its controller is what the Xbox 360 controller is most similar to. Also, my HDTV remote needs batteries too. I guess it's a Fisher Price as well.

About that **** who wrote about 360's controller eating batteries... Ever heard of Play & Charge kit? It costs ~10 Euros here. At least i don't need to buy a new controller when the battery dies out.

I like the way they're thinking, but unless they have made it more ergonomic to have in the hands compared to the DS, the problem still stands.

/EDIT I see they have changed the triggers, and made the handles longer. The only thing i can think of is the sticks, they seem a bit slippery compared to the 360-controller.

But even then, this should have been the official controller.

But aren't you suppose to play racers with wheels and fighters with Arcade Sticks? I understand how the Dualshock beats out the 360 Pad due to its D-Pad but how does the Dualshock beat out the 360 controller for racing when the Dualshock doesn't have real triggers?

There. That will do huh?

NotToBeDied
Agreed with that controller. The left analog on the dual shock has always been annoying to me. Love it when I'm using the D-Pad but in reality N64, Dreamcast, Xbox, Gamecube, Wii, and 360 pretty much use the verticle thumb placement while the Dualshock uses the lower right placement. Its the only one that does this.

I think it's about hand size too.

I am only 5'7 so my hands are not that big but the ps3 controllers are still too small.

I have pretty big hands and it seems fine to me. I guess I'm just been used to it since its pretty much the only controller I've held for the past 10 years

It did indeed sound flamebaiting, but it was a legitimate question. I remember playing GT4 and having to stop each 10 minutes because my fingers hurt. I do feel like the controller is the one thing that holds the Ps3 back. The games are there, but playing them with that little, slippery, non-ergonomic thing is just a waste. :(

Ducati20

It sounded like a ligitimate question to me..

So to answer your question, as far as I know there's no way of connecting a 360 controller to a PS3. Perhaps there will be coming third party controllers that more suit you.

That's your opinion. These controllers are not just for comforting but for the design as well. Plus I'd rather have both of my thumbs on the same level when playing shooters.

It's a fairly common complaint though. I would play my PS3 a tonne more if the the controller was better designed & I think the 360 controller is about as good as it gets IMO. It's not like Sony (or any of them) are shy about picking up on the competitions good ideas so I can't think why they've neglected the controller.

well For me the controls r pretty equal 360 control feel nicer with shooters and racing game for me (this ones the r some of my favorite genres) and for the ps3 i really feel a diference to play fighter games with the the q-pad and i also like action adventure game better on the ps3 control idk why maybe i like better the right buttons that on the 360 control -.-, ppl ill always say 360 control is better because its better on shooters the genre the since very popural this generation!

I love how Xbox fanboy act as if the controller is god. The only thing I love about the 360 controller is the analog sticks which are amazing and the triggers. Besides that the Sony controller is by far more advanced. Has a way better D-pad and the part everyone forgets PRESSURE sensitive buttons. The 360 doesn't have that and I think that's a major flaw. The DS3's analog sticks are decent enough to get the job done, but if there was ever a hybrid controller combining both it would be amazing.

The PS controler is easily the worst controller I've ever played with. If your hands are anything but the tiniest you get hand cramps from the weird placing of the two analog sticks and the small size of the controller.

I love the comfortable feel of the 360 controller in my hands, but the DS3 is perfect in my opinion. I'm glad Sony has kept the design virtually the same. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I can't use the ps3 controller. It might be because I have very long fingers, but using the controller for any length of time hurts. I like the 360 controller, d-pad aside (not even the fanboys can defend that), it just fits my hands better. Pressure sensitive buttons would be an improvement, I agree with whoever said that, but I can get by without it.
