Ps3/360 price dropped at the same time...Why has PS3 sold 1.5 million MORE since

well I doubt it was 1.5 million but if Wikipedia or VGchatz says it's so it must be so....lol

Anyway I think people seem to forget that the same day the $100 price drop was announced for the PS3 the Slim was announced. A whole new system might sell some consoles...just a guess though....

I didn't know they stopped selling HDMI cables with it. That sucks. They may not be expensive, but it was best when you could put that money towards the wifi adapter or something else you might need.

Yeah, that's why the PS3 is beating the Xbox 360. Oh wait...

1) Most people who wanted a 360, already have one. A price drop does little to attract potential new buyers.

2) Most people who wanted a PS3, have not made the purchase yet. This price drop sets the deal for them. As a testimony, 5 of my friends who didn't make the jump to this generation suddenly find themselves with a PS3.

3) Contrary to System Wars beliefs, there are many hardcore gamers out there who have yet to purchase a current generation console : many of them started buying new consoles this year. You'd be surprised how many gamers out there have not yet purchased a current generation console, this late in the game.

Its simple. When the PS3 first came out it was like 600 dollars or something. The 360 was 400 or something, lol (cant really remember). Either way the PS3 was a lot more expensive so more people choose the 360 for the price. Now that the PS3 is cheaper people can afford it and everone already has a 360.

Because the PS3 has Bluray, charge and play controllers, WiFi, internet browser, free online gaming, way more reliable,and comes in a Slim version.

The price drop brought it neck and neck with the Black 360 pricewise, but it does more for less.
