PS3s Halo

What do you think is the PS3s Halo? Resistance? Killzone? Something else? Do you think it is better or worse then Halo?

Killzone. Resistance is pretty bad and shouldn't be compared to halo (resistance 2 caused me to say this)

They don't nor will they ever have a FPS as critically acclaimed and overhyped Halo or one that will sale over 10 Million copies IMO. Sony tried with Resistance and Killzone, while great games aren't it. Strictly in terms of sales they have the Gran Turismo franchise.FlamesOfGrey

It would be GT5... but I dont think its over hyped like Halo. And thb I dont see reach out selling either GT5 or Black ops.

I wasnt really talking about sales. I was thinking more a high qualityFPS similair to Halo.

In terms of gameplay, Resistance is near identical. As far as popularity, I don't think an FPS on ps3 will match Halo on 360. I think the FPS fanbase is higher on 360. I know COD has tons of players on ps3, but I consider that a different group altogether.

i enjoy killzone 2 than i do halo 3, so for me killzone is my halo for ps3

Well if your just talking about a high quality fps then there a few on the ps3 Resistance,Killzone 2,COD,BF.

Yeah, and all those fanchises are overhyped but this thread is about Sony and Halos success. None of Sonys FPS games come close to being as overhyped (Killzone 2 was only hyped for graphics not the best shooter of all time and I didn't see much of any off the wall hype for Resistance 2) as Halo nor do they sale as well. They don't review that much lower either. Point is Sony will never have an Halo FPS at least in my opinion.

For multiplayer I would say SOCOM. Not nearly as many people play it compared to HALO but IMO the community and gameplay for SOCOM is better than HALO.

And so the search for the elusive "Halo Killer" continues :)

or it could be vice versa, you can't trace the beginning of that one.

i would say its most likely... rathcet and clank,

not because of space shooters or other things, but because they don't take themselves too seriously, and have very unscripted explosion inducing gamepley, with cheeky humor through out.

resistance, uncharted, killzone are all too serious, uc2/kz2 seem to be more about cinematic gameplay,

otherwise in theme/popularity probabably killzone

Nobody was comparing popularity and sales, as Halo is known to be very popular among the 360 base and sells extremely well because of it. The idea is what is Sony's "Halo," though I still don't get what the question entirely means.

I still say Resistance for gameplay, the two games are really just the same game with different skins. I prefer the non-gun weapons from Halo (grenades, gravity hammer, etc.) and the guns from Resistance.

Killzone 2 has only perspective in common with those two games, so really there is no comparing them.

GT5 will probably be the sales equivalent to Halo, if there is one.

Socom for popularity (unless we're talking multi plat, then COD).

I still think the shooter fanbase is primarily on 360, which is strange seeing as how Sony is pumping out 2 FPS series at once. So I don't think the ps3 will ever have an FPS as popular as Halo, though the 360 may also never have another FPS as popular as Halo either.
