ps1 was a single core processor and saturn had dual processors and ps1 was easier to develop for that's why many multiplats were superior on ps1 than saturn. One very fast central processor would be preferable. I don't think all programmers have the ability to program two CPUs-most can only get about one-and-a-half times the speed you can get from one SH-2. I think that only 1 in 100 programmers are good enough to get this kind of speed [nearly double] out of the Saturn. Uhh... wow... ok..
PS3 only has one CPU with an additional 7 SPUs.
Xbox 360 has a triple core processor.
The Wii-U supposedly is a quad-core processor.
Future consoles will have more cores because they can't get over 4Ghz without overheating, so they add more cores.

Two mediocre franchises
What else ya got?
twisted metal 1 & 2 were some of the game's that actually made you play multiplayer on any playstation. coolboarders syphon filter destruction derby nightmare creatures rallycross >>owns motorstorm wipeout omg? 1080p on ps3 dino crisis duke nukem time to kill fighting forceat the time working on two cpu's was difficult because it was new to developers. it's almost same concept dev's working on SPE'S that is new to them compared to working on a general processing core.Uhh... wow... ok..
