PS4 and X1 still have no games.

Guess OP never had an Atari Jaguar... if they did they'd know what it's like to have a system release with no games and die with no games. Biggest waste of $400 bucks ever. :(((

It seems to be a very slow trickle of games coming out, but after nearly two years on the market, they should have more. Granted, bigger better looking games do take longer to make.

Keep in mind that these games are not even filtered for quality. If games with a metascore less than 80 were filtered out, each console would only have about one, maybe two games.

Why now, at the point where console exclusives matter now more than ever, as they face the definitive-multiplat-collecting, leviathan, powerhouse that is PC, are the PS4 and X1 libraries so abysmal? Why god, why? How many years do you think it will take for 8th gen consoles to finally obtain the one and only positive trait a console in PC's time can possess? lol what makes MGSV meant to be played on PS4 and its way more than shadows the PC version has. Also PC version is coming out the same time. Also Dualshock 4 will be supported for it so there goes any reason to claim it as meant for PS4.

That's just a product of console gamers eating up new consoles because they're new. I imagine many spent a couple hundred on the system just to play a game or two.

Once the XBONE gets Forza 6 and Halo 5 (assuming they review well) I'll be real tempted considering it already has Sunset Overdrive, MCC, and FH2. Might get a Shield first for steaming my PC games to my TV.

Only on System Wars are multiplatforms not seen as playable games. Just another day.

RIME is a 1st party PS4 exclusive published by Sony and developed by Tequila Works of Deadlight fame. Here's the developer's site:

It's not coming to PC, Mac, or Xbone according to the developers, not to mention Sony's publishing it as a 1st party title.

Tequila Works’ Creative Director revealed that Rime was initially pitched to Microsoft as an Xbox LIVE Arcade title. But it was turned down due to the lack of multiplayer and social features, which were an integral part of Microsoft’s publishing policies for Xbox LIVE Arcade games on Xbox One.

It's peculiar that M$ turned RIME down for being singleplayer. It was originally going to be an Xbox exclusive (this was far before it was revealed). Then again at this point in history the PS4 has about 150 more games than Xbone. M$'s emphasis is mp and social features, which is fine, but it's a shame this game got lost in the shuffle.

With regards to guessing at 3rd party publishers, that's not always true, sometimes regions play into it. Also, sometimes sales of the consoles play into it or sales of the game. We saw exclusives pop up for GBA, DS, Wii, PS2, Vita, and 360 based not on money hatting, but simply due to regional popularity, sales, etc.

That particular Nier/Drakengard game series has a Japanese roots (and if you didn't know the Xbone's sales performance is particularly terrible in Japan). You probably already know the sales of the PS4/Xbone worldwide, so I won't break that down. The original game had two versions one starring a younger protagonist on PS3, and an older man on 360 in Japan. In the west, the older man version shipped. Publishers can then look at sales with each console base and determine how to proceed. The fact it got green-lit is actually a surprise, but with Platinum Games on board, it should be something else.

The most recent news about New Nier was published a few months ago here at GS. When New Nier producer Yosuke Saito was asked about an Xbone version, Saito replied to please play it on PS4.

Platinum has been signed to help Square Enix with the new project's combat. Square wanted to work with a developer with a strong action game pedigree, and initially approached Platinum to assist. New Nier has was in pre-production for six months, and as of December 2014, development has been fully underway.

Producer Yosuke Saito also suggested to GameSpot that New Nier will be PlayStation 4 only, responding to a question about playing on the Xbox One with, "Please play on PlayStation 4."

The new Nier project was announced at E3 2015 during Square Enix's press conference. Check out the first look at the game below.

So, we were only given a clue it was a PS4 exclusive but we don't know for sure but he told gamers asking for an Xbone version to play the game on PS4, so your speculation that it's coming to Xbone (not a PS4 exclusive) doesn't seem to have any merit unless you have a link.

That said, looking at a publisher can be a good measure, but it really depends on other issues too. There are a number of games that simply don't release in the west for instance.

Regarding Sony paying, this series isn't a big seller so I'm not convinced PS or Xbox heads would seek this particular niche, lower selling game out as an exclusive to move consoles. If it ends up exclusive, it's most likely due to other factors (region, sales, etc).

excuse me? how arent they? FH2's 360 port was handled by a completely separate team and build from the ground up as a seperate game just so it can run on last gen hardware. its an entirely different game. and it isnt available on any other ecosystem other than xbox. And MCC... is an exclusive to the fullest extent. there is no port on any other platform within or outside of the Xbox ecosystem.

Well I assume @skelly34 is using the SW rules for determining an exclusive. For FH2 i guess an argument would have to be made. Remasters are generally not considered exclusives. The rules apply to all sides

When it comes to exclusives I actually enjoyed Bloodborne, InFamous SS and Killzone SF. Self-entitled forum dwellers aside, Infamous and Killzone SF are actually enjoyable games. But anyways, my PC isnt mainly for gaming as I always prefered consoles for that so my PS4 gets plenty of use with multiplats

Like i said the biggest community will be on PS4 when MGO is released and no hacks :). There are so many reasons bro... even trophies are better than any achievement system on PC. This is why PS4 version is the king.

Both consoles have a ton of games to play. People try to act like exclusives are the only games consoles have for some reason. Games that are good are subjective to the person playing them.

Besides MOBAs and a few decent rts games, pc gaming has just as little as the consoles. After Star Citizen there really aren't that many upcoming games even worth building a pc for. Name 10 I'll wait. But be prepared to have it raked over the coals like you do console games. "But but the modding, the 4k...."

Modding is also coming to consoles, most gamers don't even use mods anyway and the bulk of pc gamers don't have a 4k capable system. For every decent rts game or indie there's an avalanche of incredibly shitastic games on PC. Scroll thru Steam Greenlight or most of the early access games on Steam. Unfinished broken garbage. Finding a good game is like finding a corn husk in a septic tank of turds.
