Who cares? Has anyone ever said "The Xbox One will sell well in Japan"? The first Xbox didn't, neither did the 360.

Japan doesn't matter to me. And quite frankly, its the 3rd biggest market - but far distant from #2 (EU).

SW has a knack for ignoring the actual winners. Like, 2nd place is the most important... how.. why... I don't know.

Considering the gap that Wii U had over PS4 , which was too small , its kinda weird that this week PS4 has this huge gap over Wii U. That will change again i think with Smash.

All in All good for both Nintendo and Sony. Im expecting the xbone to fall to 3 digit numbers next week and maybe not even reach 150k before the end of the gen.

I have a funny feeling the WiiU will be in the lead in a couple of weeks again.

I don't know where you are getting me counting out the PS4 in that post. To me it looks like if anything is being "counted out" its the XBOX ONE.

The problem lies there.

XBOX's mindshare in the US is still very strong, so MS can either take back majority, or atleast remain in a short market distance.

JP is a market possible to sacrifice since it'll most likely amass to 10M in total sales. Plus AAA software is aimed at western makerts

Has a european, i can tell you people here in Portugal, and most likely across Europe, buy the PS4 due to brand association.

The xbox doesn't have an exclusive, price, kinect problem in EU. It has a mindshare problem.

The PS2 was a huge sucess in europe, but the xb360 couldn't pierce the market for us the way it did with the US (UK is a unique situation due to being 360 but aligned with EU in trends like FIFA)

So, even with a price difference, the PS3 was the console to get here in europe.

The xbone could be 50, maybe 100, euros cheaper even with Kinect, bundle fantastic games like FIFA (huh) Halo, etc, and people wouldn't buy because, peole know Playstation. Everyone i know grew up with a PS2, PS3.

Without that mindshare from MS, the xbox can't compete with the playstation 4. Atleast not has an equal price gaming console that offers basically the exact same experience and features between each other at basically the same prices.

Only solution that i can realistically see, has said before, is FIFA exclusivity. Even that's not perfect enough, but it'd be a pure megaton. Don't see M$ doing it though

Playstation vs Xbox isn't about winning, or having the better versions of games, or having the highest scored games, or being the best selling console or anything

I think you need to look at what happened whenever a console sold significantly more in one week compared to previous week in Japan. The following week the console drop to sub 15K numbers and eventually sub 10K numbers. The PS4 will go back towhere it left off before destiny released most likely in a couple of weeks.
