Honestly, I still think the PS4 could be able to run it at 1080p.

DICE couldn't make it equal to the ONE's version, since that would cause an uproar with the core console gamers. If they made it 1080p, that would be too much of a difference and they would alienate the xboners. So they picked 900p, which is a safe middle-ground. It's a pity xboners are holding back gaming. If only they'd stop having sexual relations with their plastic toys and started treating consumer products as inanimate objects and not their lovers, the xbone would fail and 3rd parties wouldn't even bother with the bone.

I think what happened at DICE is that they saw the huge shitstorm 720p CoD: Ghosts caused. Knowing that everything always leaks, they downgraded the PS4 version to 900p to avoid a similar shitstorm.

It's frustrating how xbots like you keep holding back gaming. Just don't buy the xbone and make MS leave the industry. Is that so hard? Are you married to the Xbox?

You're a fool if you don't think intentional gimping doesn't happen in the console gaming industry. There are 2 reasons that make me think DICE and EA are intentionally gimping the PS4 version.

1) PS4 BF4 @ 900p would make the playstation gamers say, "Hey, we still get the best console version. I'm fine with that" and it'll make the xboners say, "See, the PS4 isn't that much more powerful. I'll still pick it up on my sexual partner - the Xbone."

It's the safe middle-ground, especially after the recent resolutiongate with Ghosts. Notice how this rumor isn't getting much attention from the gamers? Yeah, it's because not many people care. If it were 1080p vs 720p, you'd bet your ass this shitstorm would be 10x more than the CoD: Ghosts resolution drama.

2) Many trusted insiders have claimed the PS4 version of BF4 was 1080p before and during the Ghosts resolution drama. Now, they're all claiming it's 900p. Yeah, not suspicious at all. I'm sure DICE and EA employees don't lurk around gaming communities and large social networking sites to see what's trending.

Ryse is a slower-paced action adventure game running at 30fps. BF4 is multiplayer focused game with large maps , 64 players , vehicles , and running at 60 frames per second. No idea why you are comparing the two just based on the same resolution. Context is king.

The XBox One versions of BF4 and COD are both already running at a higher resolution and with higher video quality than on the PS4. You will all be able to see it for yourself shortly.

The XBox One version of Watchdogs was ready to go. The launch was delayed because the performance was so bad on the PS4.

Sony and their supporters are still trying to lie about the power of the PS4. That only works until both consoles are released. I expect a lot of angry Sony fans after the 15th and especially after the 22nd.

The people who buy an XBox One are going to be very happy. Can't say the same for the folks buying a PS4.

This has gone below even the SW bar of pathetic lows. These are launch titles people. The games we see this year...and probably the following year are not even close to representative of the game we will be enjoying in 3,4,5,6+ years time. Just stop clinging on to obscure tweets, speculative news and "inside information".

Wait until release, much like every other gen the differences between the consoles will be minimal, both products will find their own niche and people can start buying consoles for reasons that matter...like games and features....not launch game resolution.

Then why was BF3 the benchmark for powerhouse PC's over Crysis 3? It's because BF3 looked better than Crysis 3, plus it had A LOT more going for it on the "technical" side of things like: more players in a server, destruction, and vehicles. Please don't forget how horrible Crysis ran on "godlike" PC's because of the "crappy" optimization in 07.

Sorry dude but C3 is still the benchmark. You'll see it in every video card review while you WON'T see BF3 the same. BF3 looks great but to say it's the benchmark standard is a bit of a stretch.

Both the PS4 AND XB1 versions of BF4 are running at 900p...

This whole resolution thing is under the premise of the PC master race who play games at very close distances. In console gaming though, its irrelevant because of average living room viewing distances and screen sizes. Even the THX recommended viewing distance for a 50″ screen is 5.6 ft for optimal 1080p resolution. So, most consumers will not be able to see the full benefit of their 1080p TV. Meanwhile you don't even start to see any kind of 1080p benefit until you get closer than 10 feet.

@RR360DD: 900p is good enough for everybody. 720p may have been even better since 720p TV owners would be able to to view the game in a native resolution. At 900p, there will be scaling regardless of your set since 900p is not a standard HD resolution.

720p to 1080p didnt make much of a performance difference to me on my Alienware with a Gtx 660. They must be pushing better graphics than pc is doing now.

I think 720 games are beautiful to play. Yeah, i think that 1080 would be the standard by now, but its not gonna make me not want to play a game.
