I'm not going to lie, I'm not done with remasters myself. I mean if something like a Mass Effect trilogy remaster or Dead Space trilogy remaster graced the next gen consoles I'd totally be all over that.

Anyhow, if Sony is going to do remasters, I'd at least hope they can remake the first two Motorstorm games before turning their back on the series for good, first two games only though, Apocalypse was shit.

When a system has zero third party support and is the worst selling console in the company's history by a landslide? When the company has had to resort to motion control gimmicks, toy dolls, microtransactions, and going mobile to even stay afloat? When their only successful sector in handheld gaming is being eclipsed by mobile gaming? No, that's not funny.

I look at remasters on a case-by-case basis. If they're good games, good quality remasters, and the price is right, I'll buy them.

The Last of Us: Remastered and GTA V were both pretty phenomenal.

Offer me something like Dead Space trilogy, or a COD: Modern Warfare trilogy (with multiplayer) remaster and I would probably jump on it. If the rumors are true and the Batman Arkham games are getting a remake I'll probably get that too.

Baffles my mind that a generation of gamers would rather play old games with marginally updated graphics rather than new and fresh experiences. The only remaster I'm interested in is a CoD MW collection, and that is only because the servers are dead and filled with hackers.

lol it is funny. Because they don't even need videogames to stay afloat and are still profitable. Sony is making money hand over fist and still can't post a profit to save their soul. Even with all the empty hype in the world they are still in terrible shape.

PS4 also has more games in general so this isn't surprising. I bet another reason Xbone has less remasters is because Xbone has a hard time doing 1080p in the first place. You can't have a remaster that's in 792p/720p lol.

It's only milkage if its something that you need. Like charging for online when no other platform does or charging $20 for a charge kit for your controllers. I think you need to understand what milkage is.

Remasters can be great. For example, I got rid of my PS2 in favor of a BC release PS3. When I got the YLOD, I could no longer play some of my PS2 favorites like God of War and Ratchet and Clank. Fortunately Sony remastered these for PS3, so I was able to pick up the collections for $20 and play some of my favorite games again.

@StealthMonkey4: Considering a remaster is literally a visually improved experience and they 100% won't change the code, you'll be running into the exact same issues every COD released since MW has had present with hacking and issues with it's online play being unsecured and easy to manipulate.

No, not really. Milkage really just refers to stuff designed to squeeze as much money out of consumers as possible. The endless barrage of remasters (as well as lazy annual sequels) definitely falls under that category.

To be fair, these "exclusive" remasters like Halo, TLOU and Uncharted seem to be designed more for players who are new to a particular brand and jumped ship from an old one. I.e. 360 owners who bought a PS4 and getting TLOU remastered.

I guess how much this annoys/angers you is how much you have been invested in games the last gen,i personally haven't and did pick up a ps3 late last year to catch up on some titles i wanted to play for years...but all said and done i found the graphics and experience of most last gen titles to be really sub par and i don't have the patience anymore for long load times or blurry sub hd images or jittery frame rates....if the remasters provide a much better experience without necessarily overhauling the entire game that is fine in my books.

Of those listed i have played GOW 3,Uncharted trilogy, beyond two souls and FFX,GOW is one of my favorite series and i loved GOW 3 so i'll easily repurchase that one again,uncharted is kinda meh to me,beyond hasn't been confirmed to be remastered but i REALLY hope it will, infact probably more than any other title of last gen,FFX i haven't played in like a decade and have fond memories of it...however not sure i could pull through hours of random battles again!

Oh and i am also hoping for a Mass effect trilogy remaster as when i tried to play them on the ps3 the experience was pretty bad and they haven't kept up well with age...slap new textures on them with a smooth framerate and i'll buy!

I think they're targeted both at new consumers and the easily milked.

a release that still is plagued with glitches and bugs to this day. even if i didn't get screwed out of getting ODST for free, it'd still be annoying. especially since that has bugs and glitches up the wazoo as well.

I didn't know Sunset Overdrive came with ODST.
