Got this from GameFaqs. This might not be true but still gives us something to think ramble about.

when people make fake pictures at least make them look possible 20gbs ram is work station level 5000$ ps4
it's more plausible if the PS4 is releasing in 2017when people make fake pictures at least make them look possible 20gbs ram is work station level 5000$ ps4

Well giving it that much RAM definitely "future proofs" it.
giving it that much also guarantees it costing over 2000 dollars.2160p only on 2d though it says 1080p on other then 2d games. It also has 11.1 surround sound..........20 gigs of DDR6 RAM? 22nm kepler GPU? 2160p? :|

giving it that much also guarantees it costing over 2000 dollars.Honestly you can get good RAM cheap these days. A 24 gig ranges from about 150 - 250 bucks. Thats 24 gigs at a consumer price. Mass producing consoles with 20 gigs would bring that cost down significantly.
Still though, its obviously BS. Even 6, or 8 gigs would be overkill for new consoles. I would welcome it with open arms, but its not likely. I'm hoping for 4 gigs realistically.

Could be a dev kit.
Probably is a dev kit.
I can definitely see this being a dev kit. It also says "For Developers Only"

20 gigs in a dev kit? even the 360 which later upgraded to 1 gig of ram in their dev kits so they could keep the 512mbs available for games and all tools running on the other 512mb...even if just 5 gigs were available of each ram pool thats still 5 gigs of XDR2, and GDDR6, thats insane and would combined with every thing else that would make it even more expensive then the ps3..giving it that much also guarantees it costing over 2000 dollars.[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"][QUOTE="Blazerdt47"]

Consumer ram does not cost the same as industrial ram put into stock systems while it is in fact cheaper in this scenario where industrial soldered on ram is cheaper your talking about that ram being used in millions upon millions of systems, as well as R&D and man hours to do it...so yes it pretty much guarantees the system will be costly even more so then the ps3 specially when you take into account the other parts in the system like such high end cell..etcStupidest list Ive ever read .
-They are confirmed to have an AMD CPU and GPU, and they are also confirmed to be at 28nm
-They are going to have stacked die using Through Silicon Vias (this was confirmed by the man designing the PS4)
-Their CPU('s) will most likely be an APU similar to AMD's trinity (It will most likely be the Kaveri, which is AMD's steamroller based 28nm APU which is set to be the successor for the Trinity in 2013), and Southern Island GPU cores (or most likely a Sea Island GPU cores, which are set for 2013)
-There is NO WAY in hell, they will be using the Cell processor:|. They are confirmed to be AMD for both CPU and GPU. And besides, that many SPU's wouldnt even be neccessary, they would add more Piledriver (or Steamroller) modules instead of SPUs.
-There are no 22nm Kepler GPUs:|. They woudldnt choose Kepler over AMD's Southern Island architexture anyways, due to the fact that Southern Islands includes hardware support for 4k resolution, while Kepler doesnt. An ambition that Sony has made clear that they intend to persue with their TVs in the very near future.
- Memory: 10gb GDDR6?. Dafuq? Theres a GDDR6 now? They are making up industry specifications now? It will use GDDR5.
10gb XDR? There is no way Sony is going to use two different kinds of memory like they did in the PS3. They will use DDR3 for system memory, and GDDR5 (which is based off of DDR3) for framebuffering. And with AMD, the GPU can use system memory as well, since the ram types are both based off of DDR3. If they were using XDR, that would be crucifying themselves, like this gen.
This list sounds like it was made by a 15 year old:|
As far as ram is concerned, you guys should look up Through Silicon Vias. There are STACKED memory die that are supposed to be market ready releasing this year. There are a WHOLE lot of packaging innovations for both memory and processor die that are going to be comming out in this year alone.
They can stack up to 8 layers of die using Through Silicon Vias, with the power consumption of ONE die, and on a silicon interposer for a 90% reduction in power consumption, and 100-1000 times greater bandwidth. theyve broken through the memory wall. They already have 8gb single module DDR3 modules set to be consumer product ready within the next year. Sony has also confirmed that they are using Stacked CPUs, GPUs and Memorys with TSV's.
I actually expect ALOT more ram from the PS4 and Xbox720 than people think, although its not going to be XDR or GGDR6 like that BS list says . It will be DDR3 + GDDR5.
They're out of their minds if they really plan this. No console ever sold well because of hardware alone and the losses on each unit sold would be massive.
prepare to get left in the bed then.. your lover is a figment of your imagination..[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"]My body is ready. ionusX
Yeah it's fake. That much RAM isn't happening.Kiro0
I agree. Having that much RAM inside of the console alone would make the system tons more expensive.
*Just so you guys know, PC RAM doesn't equal console RAM.*
FAKE
Sony has no plans for a new console at this time, and can't even afford to develop one at this time
And on top of that, those specs would make the console too expensive. Sony isn't making that mistake again. They'll most likely use a quad-core CPU and a GPU based on the GeForce 500 series at best, even if they plan to release the console in 2016.
2160p is also unlikely. 1080p will be the standard next-gen.
