Extremely well deserved. And this is before the big hits start rolling in.

I don't know how it happened but the PS4 actually sold more and faster than the Wii at the same time frame. And by a lot!
By November of 2008 (Wii came out in Nov 2006) it sold 13 millions in 2 full years. But the PS4 sold 20 in 1 year and 4 months! But I don't really feel the hype, I mean, where are the shortages? I don't even have a single friend that has bought a current gen console yet but I remember that last gen everyone I knew had Wii's, even people of my family that didn't even cared about video games before.
edit:
oh I'm sorry I saw it wrong. Wii actually sold 20 millions in one year.

I told myself I'd buy a PS4 if there were at least 5 exclusives for it, so far I have Ratchet, Disgaea 5 and Uncharted 4, need 2 more and I was never a fan of the souls games so I don't think I'd like Bloodborne very much.
Tearaway: Unfolded. It looks awesome and it's not a port (well, remake but still it's not the same as the Vita version).
I was referring more to full retail games. I can't justify buying a PS4 for indies.
lol. That is crazy. Where are the games?! There are hardly any. With those numbers you'd think this would be some groundbreaking console.
Whoever is in charge of the playstation division and its marketing should be running the entire company.

Persona 5, Samurai Warriors 4, Dragon Quest Heroes, Rime.

not exclusive

The butthurt from Second Son fucking up Titanfall's grill still making people wince.
uh, wut?
Did I stutter?
PS4 gamers aren't waiting for anything. There are plenty of good Gen 8 games to compliment the actual good exclusives the system has had thus far. The talking points of System Wars are irrespective of reality. It will be interesting to see if anything on the Bone charts in NPD as well as Final Fantasy Type-0 on the PS4. Nevermind Bloodborne.
The whole "PS4 has no games" thing started sliding back into the mud around last summer. It's not exactly an accident that PS4 was barely behind the Bone in November.. Even in the land of heart disease, obesity and SUVs.

Wii was at 22.4 million units at this point in its life.
It is actually trailing the Wii by just a little, but I don't think that takes away anything from its performance, in fact, it makes it even more impressive.

what the **** does infamous or titanfall have to do with anything here?
Extremely well deserved. And this is before the big hits start rolling in.
But it's not. The system basically has nothing but multiplats and remasters, man.
@charizard1605: Oh I thought he was talking about the WiiU. I thought Zelda came out then and was like "Shit....that was fast".

And exactly what platform seems to haz all teh gamez in your opinion?
But it's not. The system basically has nothing but multiplats and remasters, man.
Right now it's selling on potential, but that aside, it is hard to deny that Sony made the best console on the market. No bullshit, no gimmicks, just doubling down on what core gamers want best, and the market is rewarding them for it. As for the games? They're coming. They're almost here. How long can the Wii U keep its lead? Nintendo is amazing, it's the best developer on the market, but it cannot counter the might of every single first, second, third, indie, AAA, western, and Japanese game developer combined.

He has already said it in a previous post in this thread: the Wii U. As of right now, he is right too, the Wii U clowns the PS4 in terms of games.

I don't know if you stuttered or not, but your sentence was very random. That's probably why lostrib responded like that.

Well, to that end, I do agree. I don't see PS4 owners as necessarily "waiting" though.
I'm look at some early evidence that a whole lot of former 360 owners have shifted to the PS4, but I won't go making a thread on it until March NPD results are published. As much shit as PS4 gets for its remasters, it didn't exactly hinge it's holiday hullabaloo on a remaster collection. Also, it's appealing to a fanbase it lost a lot of last gen. We'll see if rubber hits the road in mid April. I contend that a lot more people have been enjoying their PS4 than System Wars would like to admit.

Personally, as someone who has had this console since last year? I have been waiting. But that is fine, I had the Wii U to take care of me while the PS4 found its footing. The PS4 was always going to end up on top in terms of games, it was a question of when and not if. Waiting a little while for a compelling lineup later was a fair trade off. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it. I mean that didn't stop me from bitching about it (and it was well deserved bitching too), but it was a trade off. Yes, there was waiting. Was. Past tense. The wait is over, here come the games, the initial investment was worth it.

Probably not, but I can see at least half of the games this year flopping or being delayed.
I don't think it has the better library this year. Not with the games Nintendo is going to release. But next year, sure. But right now, it's the Just WaitStation.
And you can play Second Son on it, I guess. That was a good game.

on exclusives, wii u as a stand alone platform is extremely bad because of no 3rd party support, that alone makes the wii u a must have secondary system and in no way near the library of the ps4 as a whole.

I don't like inFamous :P
I dug TLOU though.
I don't know. It's Zelda, Xenoblade, Star Fox, Splatoon vs Final Fantasy, Uncharted, Bloodborne, Persona, Metal Gear Solid, Batman, Witcher, No Man's Sky, Dragon Quest, The Witness...
See what I am saying? Even if the individual Wii U game ends up being far better than the individual PS4 game, the PS4 just has so much stuff coming, it's ludicrous. It's like PS2 vs GameCube all over again, except at least the GameCube had SOME third party support.

Secondly, all but two of those games are multiplats. Multiplats do not a console war win.

Dragon Quest Heroes, bro. Looks pretty neat. An action RPG Dragon Quest? That gorgeous art in HD? Sign me up.
And the term is console war . The PS4 is the only current gen console that can play 6/10 games I listed up there, for the other four, it plays them better than competition.

The thing is, I'm in the same boat more or less. I also game on PC for FPSes, MMOs and such. For me, gaming time has been a little sporadic with the PS4, but I'm not the biggest lump sum of console gamers. Existing in that rarified atmosphere where things like VR appeal to me simply because I can. I also came to peace with the reality that developers and publishers were simply not ready for the PS4s success. There is a glaring smoldering hole the size of an asteroid in media coverage of gaming where there were once article after article after article proclaiming that Android/iPad was going to dismantle console gaming. That shit had developers and publishers spooked as shit once upon a time. Now, no one even mentions it.
I've gone into my rationale many times before, but I see System Wars parroting the sentiment that PS4 is somehow a failure when it comes to exclusives just because they didn't pull a Microsoft and end all first party gen 7 development back in 2011/2012 to front-load a launch year unilaterally. It's not just going to be a slow 2015, it's going to amount to a pretty dismal 2016 and beyond for that system and you can bet your life that all first party titles are going to be holiday releases for it from now on.
PS4 is the best system to wait on? That's just fucking asinine. Even someone going so far as to compare the PS4s first year to the Wii's. I think when people are inundated with the messaging on this board day-in and day-out they simply stop questioning it and just accept it as truth. The PS4s library is pretty damn big by now. I think something along the lines of 250 games or so. If you are waiting around and can't find anything to play ona system with 250 games then the problem isn't PS4, it's you (not personally, but you know what I'm saying here.)
Right now it's selling on potential, but that aside, it is hard to deny that Sony made the best console on the market. No bullshit, no gimmicks,
Yep, the good old gimmick free dualshock 4.
What is so gimmicky about the xbox one? Its controller has no gimmicks, good battery life and they both do things not related to games.

Yeah, and it looks pretty badass, and it's also confirmed for the west.
And yeah, I do understand, but then, looking at games such as, say, Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts, or whatever which don't have PC versions (yet), what system will you play them on? PS4 or Xbox One?

I more or less agree. It was a transitory period, it takes time for developers to shift to new hardware, even the Wii U had a rough first year (although it was far less rough than the PS4's, but whatever, the point still stands). In the long run? The PS4 was always going to be worth it, and that starts now. I'm not one of those people who hates Microsoft and Xbox, I loved and adored the 360, and I like Spencer, and I want Xbox to do well, but I mean, this is pure and utter dominance. There really is no getting around it.

It's cool. I don't mind the discussion.
It's a good system, don't get me wrong, but it hasn't won yet. Won't for a couple years. And anyone who thinks third-party studios are going to give up a ten million plus install base in the Xbone are outta their damn mind. The real world doesn't work that way.

PS4, obviously. That's like giving someone the choice between a Carolla and a Corvette and asking them which one they'd rather drive.
How can people still say its only selling based off hype? Can a console sell well for over a year purely on hype alone?
Yeah. See also: Wii. And PS4, of course.

@DarkLink77: Stop spreading that lie. The wii u has no games normal people actually like playing. Only the hardcore nintendo fanboys like those games. The wii u has the worst library out of the big three.
If people actually liked nintendo's games it wouldn't be in last place.
We do like playing Nintendo games... 20 years ago.

Yeah, the PS4 is like a new age 360, which in turn, at least to begin with, was a new age PS2. Let's hope Sony won't **** it up.

Just like the PS4 then ^_^
It's the best console on the market from whatever angle you want to look at it from. Value, price, performance, library, whatever. It comes out on top.
Fully deserved.
