PS4 = slightly bellow Mid range PC. Xbone = entry level PC

Well we new this already but Digital Foundry built a mid-range "next-gen" PC to go head to head with next gen consoles (particularly the PS4). The results aren't shocking. Midrange PC smokes next gen consoles in everything but crappy ports like COD.

Tell me when I can play Infamous SS, Halo 5, Forza 5 & Horizon, Crackdown 3, The Order 1886, Uncharted 4 and dozens of other quality exclusives on this £500 PC. When I can get those games on PC I wouldn't mind paying £1000 for it.

You're right you cant play those on PC. The point being made is of the technical power not the game library. Its like saying "Hey did you know you can have a hand made burger with the freshest of ingredients and best quality service at this restaurant just over the road." and you turn round and say "Can I have a Big Mac?" "Erm no...." "well McDonalds give me big macs so I refuse to eat superior food elsewhere"

This is an excellent point. A £1000 PC isn't worth the price if all you can play is buggy unfinished RUST/Mincraft/Dayz indie titles.

Consoles have all the blockbusters AAA million dollar 96% metacritic franchises.

Everyone knows consoles can't match PCs raw power and your burger example is good enough to convey my point. If I want big mac (console exclusives) then Imma eat big mac! If I can get better tasting food elsewhere then I'll go there even if it costs more than big mac.

I really find hard to follow your logic here. The fact is that "NOW" the gap (in performance and graphics) this PC have from consoles will remain the same in 5 years and so on.

For example, a PC from 2006 with a 8800GTX(etc), was performing in games much better than consoles, the SAME was true in 2013 (7 years after) when the 7th console generation ended. I mean take a recent random multiplat and you will see that a 8800(or equivalent) still play games with much better performance and graphics than consoles(ps3, 360) like it did back in 2006.

What games? You only listed linear onrails QTE fest movies that can be experienced for free on Youtube.

I must admit, I wish I could get the games and experience's you get on Xbox One on a PC as I'd buy one in a heart beat. I actually like the Kinect integration and simplicity of the console os, PC's OS are too busy with anti virus and firewalls and all the other bits you get with a PC to make it a switch on and go games machine. I have a laptop that could play Titanfall better than my Xbox One but I'll still get it for Xbox one for that reason.

I'm saying price and power are irrelevant in these comparisons. If PC has all the games you want then go for it even if it's £500 or £1000. Consoles have the games I want, now even if I could get build high end PC for free I still wouldn't ditch the consoles.

You can't play Sony exclusives on the PC. PC might have its advantages in terms of graphics, but in my opinion it offers inferior exclusives compared to consoles.

Also, the vast majority of PC multiplats aren't night and day better visually than the console versions. They are basically up ports with better image quality options, but far from the dramatic leap that some of those PC elitists make them out to be. Sure, when you take screen shots and point out the differences its noticeable, but when you're actually playing the game those little details don't really make a huge difference. I'm talking about when compared to the next-gen consoles not the PS3/360.

At the end of the day, all the horsepower in the world can't make up for inferior exclusives.

no need to be so defensive console guys. This should actually make you feel very happy about your purchase if you bought a PS4. For what you pay you can't beet the performance of the PS4.

Yet, The Last of Us is one of the highest rated games of the past decade. Won more awards than any recent PC exclusive. Name me 2-3 quality PC exclusives released in the last 3 yrs that have a metacritic score of 90, or higher.

Well PC is best used as a mutiplat upgrader. Even tho when you put the money down to build a rig strong enough to actually get a noticeable difference over current gen consoles it's not really worth it.

When we throw exclusives in the mix however the PC power comparisons go out the window and consoles accomplish a lot more than a similar level PC could ever hope to accomplish *looks at Infamous Second Son* so while that PC build my beat PS4 in mutiplat comparisons you would need something a lot more powerful to compete with what PS4 can accomplish when it comes to a ground up title.

Two seconds into that video and i've written off the thread.

£500 is the big hint, the PS4 is £350 and the X1 £430 (might be lower now didn't they drop the price?). You might consider the PC over the X1 given the performance to price ratio but you can't find anything comparative to the PS4 in price and performance.

You'll probably get less time out of that PC until you'll need to upgrade too. Consoles tend to hold their own better in the long run.

I'm happy PC has the games you want. I won't try shoving consoles down your throat or make useless comparisons.

While the game was good it didnt deserve game of the year

To tell you the truth the story was very cliche until it's let-down ending.The game's gameplay was very overrated with AI issues, and the game was really is a step down from UC3 graphics wise, and its blurry backgrounds in some the darker areas was awful. also the replay value is nil.

Naturally if you look at what they can make out of the hardware they got, consoles beat PC. One the Xbone you only have to think about one configuration of hardware. After some titles, you know the ins and outs in that particular set-up. With a PC title, you have to build something that will work on a loads of different hardware, while keeping in mind that other(and various different) tasks that runs in the background will also require a bit of processing power, because of that you will set the minimum hardware required higher.

They keep winning because they are cinematic movies that Sony fanboys plaster the polls and forums thinking that their shit dont stink
