Why can't i transfer my own pictures from mah pc and use them as a background? You could do that on the damn ps3 but not ps4. Annoying. I want actual good backgrounds, not pictures taken on the ps4 with a bunch of jaggies and low rest testures

This is great news, this was one of my biggest criticism of the PS4.

I remember some dumb cows defending the non external HDD months ago, I don't know how people could defend that.

SONY finally doing something positive.

@silversix_: I don't see where it says that. I see them highlighting "awesome" ways you can use built in image capture and editing to make "fun" backgrounds, but I don't see them saying you can't bring in images from elsewhere. Remains to be seen, I suppose, but I wouldn't worry about it until it turns out to be a problem

I'm actually most excited about the 3D bluray support for PSVR.

I don't have PSVR but I have a lot of 3D blurays (I'm that one guy who just won't let go of 3D) it would be interesting to see what they're like in VR, let us know how you get on.

LOL at finally getting a LAST gen feature though.

Let me know when xb1 controller doesn't use AA batteries.

AA>>>built in battery that last 4 hours and starts diminishing after every charge.

I see you cows are still trying to tout no options as being better than having actual options. It's why you're still the clowns of SWs

dayum...REKT

awww I see that I touched a nerve @kingtito and @kvally. Well 2005 called and it said to get with the times. I can't believe that Lemmings after 12 years are still defending AA batteries as if their controller was a product of Fisher Price.

@kingtito: yup, no friggin update is going to magically transform that battery, maybe you could add like 15 more minutes with an update that allows you to turn off that stupid light in front of the controller or .... go with the typical stupid cow solution: " get a cord ", damn, are they stoopid or what ?

You most have a special edition always battery drain PS4 controller...I remember those are sold in lemmings fantasy island.

The fun part is the PS4 controller comes with a build in rechargeable batter when will MS step into the 2006 and do the same...lol

The fun part is that you can play with the court attach while it charge so there is no problem,is not like you have to run out to buy more batteries because it ran out at some point..lol

Good news. Everyone but cows always known that simply officially plugging in an external hard drive onto your console was more convenient than having to swap out the internal hard drive which still have limited space & worrying about what to do with the gutted out internal hard drive & how many times you had to do this & even using adapters at additional cost. Anyway hopefully everything works out after the beta phase.

You are a buffoon just because you can hook up a USB drive to the xbox one doesn't mean you don't have a limited space buffoon, you may have more space, but still is limited by the size of your drive and last time i check there wasn't an unlimited space HDD for sales anywhere.

So stop your buffoonery and damage control.

In fact you can use a 4TB or more HDD by using a $35 dollar adapter that will not void your warranty, and seat on top of your PS4...lol

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Specially when is not just 4 hours,is more and when you can use a cord while charging to play.

Actual options my ass i see lemming still defend MS milking with their sold separately charge and play kits..

Is freaking 2017 that shitty excuse about having options would be valid,if the xbox one came with 2 free rechargeable AA and cheap cable, the only reason MS still uses AA batteries is because that way they can sell you their charge and play kits without making a different battery that only work on xbox controllers.

I found pathetic and sad how you some how try to picture lemmings as this supreme gamers abode all others and cows some how are all clowns for complaining for valid reasons..

Fact is you were milk for wifi adapters, over price HDD,batteries, online play, apps, you are the real cows of this place, and you are so invested in defending your masters that you still defend xbox one controllers coming without a fu**ing rechargeable battery i could care less if it use AA or not is the fact that it doesn't freaking come with one rechargeable,it come with 2 duracel that will not last you for ever and a week after buying your freaking xbox you will need to buy more or buy a charge and play kit as simple as that.

So the real clowns here are you lemmings, and you in special well you are pathetic you can't even admit being a freaking lemmings when all you do here is kiss MS ass and throw mud at sony.

Forreal though, if SONY released an elite controller I'd probably buy it.

As it stands, even using my PS4 as a netflix player, I constantly need to charge the controller, usually daily.

I'd kill for a beast battery life.

Who plays 30 hours straight? what are you some man child who lives in his mom basement? Luckily a lot of us PS4 owners aren't poor that they can own multiples of controllers unlike you who lives with his mommie.

Here comes the SW punching bag lol. Here you go again, after bitching all last gen about having to pay extra for adapters for the launch 360 (it looks like you're still bitching about it in your reply to the other user LOL), now you're welcoming adapters at extra cost which doesn't even include the storage space for the PS with open arms lol. And no, it's not just $35 dollars, that's just the adapter. Anyway without these third party adapters & updates, for the longest time you were only able to upgrade the internal hdd to 2TB maxed and that's the limited space I was talking about, the 2TB max limit. Yes hard drives have space limits duh but I was talking about how you were stuck with only being to upgrade to the 2TB max limit lol. But I'm glad they officially updated their storage options and increased that limit plus officially adding external hard drive support because these third party adapters could stop working at any given firmware update just like how third party peripherals stopped working with the previous console due to firmware updates.

Please explain me why giving the consumer choice is a bad thing? AA batteries last in my case 30-40 hours for my Xbox One controller, how long does you PS4 battery go? Testing showed it was like 6-7 hours...

Giving consumer choices is giving them 2 freaking free AA with a cable to charge them,or allow them to use AA if they want to,not selling your controller with 2 damn Duracel batteries.

This was never about choices is about selling you a damn charge and play kit,it was like that on 360 and it is like that on xbox one, nothing stop MS from letting the controller like it is but packing free the rechargeable batteries man that is the real problem.

Yes 6 or 7 hours but my controller doesn't auto destroy after the charge is up,i simple plug in the charger and keep playing, while my battery charge, those 2 AA batteries loss their charge after 30 or 40 hours, and is get a new one or buy a charge and play kit.

Your choice centers around spending more,so basically you are FORCED to buy AA either normal or rechargeable or buy into MS charge and play kits.

https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4

Which is 24 freaking dollars...lol This ^^ is why your so call choice exist, not because MS care about you having choices, the choice isn't the problem if the fact that the xbox one doesn't freaking come with rechargeable batteries even AA.

Hahahahaa Punching bag.? No i am not you silly lemming.

Oh look another hypocrite who is fine with MS ripping off $24 out of their pockets for a charge and play kit,but cry about an adapter that let you hook up bigger drive on PS4...hahhaaa

Yes it is $35 dollars you fool because the damn HDD is not free on xbox one either buffoon,so is $35 over the cost of the drive, again you pay gladly for charge and play kits since 2005 hypocrites and still do,you who celebrate over priced elite controllers that cost half of what the xbox one was last holiday...hahahaaa

No the 2TB wasn't a limit of the PS4,is more of an issue of thickness of drives, since most 3TB for laptops were to thick, again the issue was over come very fast an adapter which fits on top of your PS4 and allowed you to use 3.5 drives which are cheap by the way.

The PS4 accept bigger drives with a add on for ages so i don't know what 2TB limit you speak off..hahahahaa

Since 4TB or 6TB you still have limited space, stop spinning...

No they haven't and you are not glad about it which is why you make one of your little rants as always...lol

So one less thing to brag in lemming land..lol

Removable batteries >>>>>> Non removable batteries.

I've got a 10 pack of Eneloops AA's with 4-AAA's and a charger for $24 that takes weeks before they need a recharge. Sometimes I go months before needing to charge batteries because you only use 2 at a time. Sure it cost me an extra $24 but that is infinitely Superior to a built in battery that only lasts 4-5 hours Tops. How is this subject even debatable is beyond me. My controller stays wireless 100% of the time. I NEVER need to plug a cord into it but somehow there are people that believe a controller with a cord on it is Superior. Then you have people that brag about owning multiple $60 controllers just so that they can always keep one charged. That's a $120 investment vs a an $84 investment and the extra $24 could still power 5 other controllers for a week before those batteries went dead.

@tormentos: Lol yup you're a SW punching bag. How are you going to straight up give a reason why you can't swap the internal hard drive to anything other than the 2TB maxed limit but still fail to understand because of that reason that's the reason it was limited. Lol. You had to turn to third party adapters because they don't even have official adapters. Any firmware update could kill these third party accessories like it has before. Lol.

Now I wonder if this external hdd update will also make it to the PS3 since they still offer PS+ games for that. So no it's not one less thing to brag about, it's still a hassle for those that download those PS+ PS3 offerings. All they have to do now is somehow add BC, at least for the PS+ PS3 games and even the PS2/PS1 digital games and make them playable on your PS4 so that 8TB of external hard drive would be put into good use. But it took them a whole generation to catch up to having better storage options officially, you might have to wait until another gen for them to get BC. Lol. Let me share and quote what you said about BC, "no self respected gamer should be riding pass glory days and bragging about old ass games". But you were the main one advertising for PS+ back then because you could pay to play old ass games like Sonic & Streets of Rage. Lol. You made a thread about it here: http://imgur.com/a/z2zT0 Holy hell after reading it again, you were fine with paying for trials and demos too. Lol. SW punching bag! Getting beat up so much no wonder why even the thumbs are swollen. Lol.

Looks like MS didn't give you a choice if your sticking AA batteries into your controller. Now if the controller was able to take AA batteries, but wasn't required to use, then that's giving customers a choice, you Idio.......

I was this close to buying a new internal hard drive, thank god I put it off.

Now I can get a 4TB or 6TB drive and never have to worry about space again.

@FastRobby: Sony is clearly ahead of Microsoft in terms of exclusives this generation now.

That's not really up for debate now.

Lol beta for a feature that Xbox One has had for years... And people think Sony was better at software this gen

LOL I love how lemmings Yell that MS gives them options when it comes to controllers, but when Sony gives choices to the player to have either external HDD or internal HDD its considered a sin, unlike MS who doesn't give the their customers a choice when it comes to HDD styles.

Lol.

There isn't a 2TB max limit you moron,3TB HDD would work or more inside the PS4,if the fact that 3TB and 4TB ones are to thick, and don't fit inside the bay.

Even on PC this is a problem you blind fool...Not all laptop drives actually fit on every laptop, since higher density drives are thinker, many laptops which were made with a specific thickness will not allow for some drives.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2683874/sata-hard-drive-wont-fit-drive-cage-computer.html

There is no 2TB limit, the only problem was the bay again people have been using 3 and 4TB HDD for some time now.

That bold part is one of the worst cry effort i have seen here. hahahaaa

Who cares about getting USB drive for PS3 really...hahahahaa

No what they need to do is keep releasing good games like Yakuza and Ni oh instead of relying on past glory days,my PS3 works fine and i played those games for a complete generation,so i am in no hurry to replay them, new generations are about new games and new experiences not about the same shit that i already play.

The fu**? A full generation.? it took them 3 years,in that same time we were playing PC vs PS4 while MS was denying it and giving you pizza hut apps..lol

PSN+ didn't allow me to play old ass games,it allowed me to play PS3 games for a yearly fee,and i could hold them as long as i pay,so yeah me advocating for PSN+ in nothing contradict what i say about pass glory days idiot,as PSN+ was for PS3 games not for PS1 and PS2 games..lol

Sonic and Street of rage are genesis classics, not games in any way backward compatible with any platforms you fool, they were designed for the sega genesis those are timeless classics not games that i can still play on my PS3 by the way.

@daredevils2k: I don't see that as a sin, it's good if Sony to give consumers the possibility to change their internal HDD. Just like it's good from Microsoft to have the external option for years...

Don't make the assumption that I'm anti-Sony when I'm just pro-Microsoft

Nice try in damage controlling and back tracking "old ass games" by changing them into "classics". Lol. You still can't answer why can't you play those PS2/PS1 digital games on the PS4. Lol. And once again you are failing to understand because you can't officially put more than the 2TB whether the reason is that it's because it's too big, too fat, too thumby, that's why the limit was only 2TB, that's the only thing that could officially fit inside. Lol. Once again you're linking work arounds and third party options. All those are not official. And yes a full generation because even the 360 have external hard drive support. Lol.

@daredevils2k: they give you the choice to use AA batteries or buy a battery pack from them OR 3rd party. That's a good thing, since it gives you flexibility to choose what suits you best, and you're not stuck with bad design from a company for the built-in battery pack

Bullshit 360 games on xbox one is call backward compatibility for all games, that is because the xbox one is the successor to the 360.

Sonic and Street of rage are games made for the genesis which is no way is related to the PS brand in fact the genesis successor was competition of the PS brand,so again playing a classic game which was what almost 20 years old is not even close to playing a game you just played 3 years back.

You can´t play them because sony does not allow for it,most ps2 and ps1 games are physical not digital.

MORON the PS4 got an update long ago that support drives over 2TB what the fu** stop inventing shit, and spinning..hahahhaahahaa

NO that is not what you try to argue you silly lemming talking about backtracking, fact is more than 4TB is usable for some time now and since you don't have a problem paying for play and charge kits i am sure paying for an add on should not be a problem.

The xbox 360 got external support for games way into the generation, lets not pretend you could do that since launch,in fact you could not even install full games on your 360 for years...lol

Again one less thing to brag about in lemming land...hahahahahaa

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..

A good thing would be that MS gave you a free charge and play kit,or at least a pair of rechargeable batteries with a cable, call it like you want but at one point of another you have to CHARGE since is not infinite the energy, and since the PS controllers allow me to charge there is no bad design or problem no one is stock,it drain i charge it as simple as that,i do it even time with my phone, laptop and many other devices hell my laptop doesn't last 5 hours and that doesn't mean it is bad or has a bad design...

Only in System Wars could a thread about hard drive support turn into a war about AA batteries

Anywho about time Sony, but at least its coming! No need to stress about uninstalling games ever again
