Adjust the triggers. They're terribad.

360 controller would still win though.

No. I am happy with the controller, "better" controller is very subjective, but I think the PS3 one is the best. It hasn't been changed much because you don't fix what isn't broken, a lot of 360 only owners hate on it, but that's because they haven't spent anytime with it, once they do they'll enjoy it more.

Perhaps they could make the triggers better and maybe the controller a little bigger, but leave the same design layout.

atleast sony knows what it's like being in first place.. something microsoft will never experience

Yeah, Windows doesn't exist anymore and does NOT still have over 90% of the market near 300 years straight. Hey... yes they do! All Sony laptops run windows.

no, dualshock still remains the best controller.campzor
The joysticks and triggers suck. Change those two things, and it would be the best controller.

they will have to change that controller, it's a mongo***d controller. The pride Sony takes in that controller, dragging it on for 3 generations. Never change a winning team you say? The new win controller is the xbox controller nuff said, PS4 will own the next gen but they need a new controller!TommyBarban
What other controller before the DS 1 has 4 shoulder buttons and 2 analogues. The xbox 360 controller would not exist if it wasn't for the DS,hell now they accuse Nintendo of doing what they did to sony, change the analogue placement and there you have it a new controller which is original..lol

As someone who didn't grow up on the Playstation brand (though I have owned ever iteration of the Playstation brand of consoles/handhelds besides the Vita), I don't understand how anyone could think the DualShock is the best controller design unless you grew up on Playstation and don't own other consoles. No other controller I've ever used is as uncomfortable to use and unergonomic as the DualShoc, and this is coming from someone who owned the N64 and the original Xbox controller (The Duke)

Some people say "You're holding it wrong. You're supposed to 'finger' the controller..." and that's the whole problem. The controller should conform to my hands, not the other way around.

DS3 is perfect. I hate 360 controller, horrible d pad and the face buttons are so ugly and hard... games where you gotta press a lot it hurts my thumb o.o

True. Microsoft has been dominating OS market share since 1712. Beat that Sony!

I own all consoles and I still prefer the PS3 controller. It's because the layout is perfect, it's design is made great for gaming, and it's sticks have more accuracy than the 360's controller (this has been proven), it also has pressure sensitive buttons.

Of course what controller one prefers is subjective. But there are reasons as to why someone can still own all systems and prefer the PS3, just like you own all systems and prefer the 360's.

Truth is that I'm fine using either controller, people who b!tch about "oh the controllers so bad" on either system are just being fanboys. They are both good and serve their purpose.

Now the N64 controller, that's a bad one, no idea how I played it so much back then. Origional Xbox 1 controller was terrible as well, they had to redesign the thing.

Sony really needs a more innovative controller. I agree with you.

Tbh, both controllers are very good. I am partial to symmetrical analog sticks however. I would much rather Sony not kill off that layout since they are about the only controller left still doing it that way, pretty much all 3rd party controllers are xbox style controllers. If you want your lopsided sticks go buy one of the bazillion 3rd party controllers laid out that way, but leave my dual shock the hell alone. :p

Lol. Oh ShadowMoses, you fail once again, just like the ps3, Move, PSN hack, Vita and the soon to be disaster that is Wonderbook.

No.

All they really need to do is adjust the triggers on the back of the DS3.

Tikeio
that's probably the most significant change I feel needs to be made, followed by ditching the convex analog tips for concave tips

If all cry-babies didn't curse the boomerang-pad we had had that now...

Not really, Triggers are important in this day and age of gaming, the Boomerang had none, based from what it looks from past pictures 6 years ago.

Personally I think that the DS3 is still one of the best if not the best controller designs ever. People say the 360 pad is the best but I disagree, the D pad is atrocious and I prefer the analogs to be symmetrical on the controller. I also prefer the face buttons on the DS3, they are softer and flatter and feel more comfortable on my thumbs. Plus I like how tall the analogs are on the DS3 because they allow for more accuracy. Basically the DS3 with the trigger mods that you can snap on is the best design to me.
