PS5 can't do 4K120 from the Box

Well some eagle eyed users have seen that the HDMI Cable that comes with the PS5 is not HDMI 2.1 compliant. So that means if you have or are getting a TV that supports HDMI 2.1 you have to buy your own cable

4K 120 is utterly impossible at this time unless you shell out like a lotta money. There's probably 1% of the population that even have the build to do 4k 120fps. And i'm not even counting Ray tracking.

Gotta cut those costs on the actual boxing of the console and the HDMI cable? Jeez. I have 2 cables capable of 4K/120 and I bought them last year... I don't even have a 4k/120 capable display yet.

Barely any difference, have 2 4K TV's sitting in this house. Happily opt for the closer 1080.

good for you but that does not make it a "non issue" you should not have to go and buy a compatible cable for a system that says it is HDMI 2.1 because they decide to save about 4 or 5 bucks by shipping a non compliant cable with it

Sony was most likely expecting to sell the system at $600, but when MS announced their price, they had no choice but to match it. Now they're cutting corners everywhere they can.

It shouldn't be a problem for anyone dropping $500 on a console. You lems are looking for any way to compensate for having zero first party games.

The Pro shipped with a 2.0 cable (18GB/s). I believe 4K/120 was supported, but not with HDR. Someone correct me if wrong.

It struggles to do 4k 60fps on low settings with changing resolutions. It struggles to do 30 fps on 4k with RT. And that's with cross-gen games.

How in the planet would you expect 4k 120 in anything but old gen or indy games?
