But when OXM gave Gears a high deserving score, the lemmings did not seem to say that source was biased because it was a 360 exclusive? So does that make OXM credible or not?

Well Gears of war was getting high scores all over the place. Killzone was flopping and getting terrible scores yet PSM gives it a 9.5 :roll:

Yeah, Killzone didn't deserve it, more like a 6 or no higher than a 7, the campaign was a letdown in that game.

this was before the new editorial staff came into place. it's almost like talking about the Cleveland Cavaliers before LeBron or the Chicago Bulls without Jordan. It's irrelevant.

The credibility of early reviews / previews is always dubious though - even if the staff has changed, the notion that an early review is a "sign of things to come" is often incorrect. Take Hour of Victory - solid previews, early hype, then gut-ripping reviews. - It's not "irrelevant" to point out that reviews have been corrupt on "official" mags before - it provides evidence for the claim that "hey, in the past magazines have been wrong, so, let's wait and see".

OMG, Hour of Victory is one of the worst games I've played this gen, and why were the previews so solid again? I am chilled out, I just get sick of people bashing games before there even out, and most of them will not even play the game as they don't own the system. If he isn't a lem, my apologies, And my apologies to wzboson if I sounded overly harsh. It's just something that has gotten to me over the last few months on system wars, seeing the same people bash games just because they are on another system they don't own, or haven't even played. I don't see as many "cows" or "hermits" bashing games, most praise the games that are on the system instead of bashing a game from the other system. It seems to me that a few lems in particular are really notorious for this, I won't name names as I am sure anyone on here knows who they are... Seriously though...If the game sucks once it's out and you played it and don't like it I will respect that, but not before the game is out. And not before you actually played the game yourself. Killzone 2 really impressed me so I am more passionate then usual about it....and that;s unusual for me as I am mostly an rpg guy!

Man why do people bash Killzone?? It was a great game, not as good as it could have been, but it was pretty good. You guys just dump this game because you read the reviews, and probably have never played it. If I was to score it. I would have given it a 8.0.

Why don't you play the game before you make assumptions on how it is. I played the multiplayer beta and I didn't play anything else the entire time i had it, even though I bought about 12 other games then, it was that good. Seriously you lems bash stuff that isn't even out yet. Don't bash a game that isn't out that you never played. And as far as the magazine, that magazine has a new editor-in-cheif that was once the official xbox magazine chief back during the xbox 1 days. He is not biased and it's not the same people who did the killzone 1 review, that was 5 years ago, and the whole magazine team has been replaced since then. This new editor and team isn't biased they gave HAze and LAir a 2.5 so your argument is moot. Now please lem play something first, before putting it down.

Why do you want it to fail? Is it because you don't own a ps3, or because you wish you did but it's too expensive for you so you have to bash the games on it before they even come out. I don't get you lems, every other post you lems bash on ps3 games, while most cows talk about how great ps3 games are, why not you lems talk about how great 360 games are instead of bashing the other console's games, or the system? It seems to me you don't have enough games to praise so all you lems bash the ps3 and it's games. Killzone 2 is great in multiplayer and from what I seen of the single player videos on IGN, they have snippet commentary videos on the first 3 levels, and it looks and plays phenomenal!

Chill man, as for me I'm gonna wait before I judge.

I tend to agree. but for every over hype " KZ2 will move systems, once KZ2 is out Xbox360 is finished" - which I don't think the game really has warranted one yet, there will be a rebuff as well. I expect antyhing that is big will be completely scrutinised and criticized. I've played the first game and be honest it was not the halo killer it was touted to be or even great for that matter. Halo is stil played ferverntly to this day and killzone whcih came out later is just a memory. The mutliplatey had a lot of problems. me and my friend played team vs and sometimes the whole screen would go white and you couldn't see the backgrounds - that was terrible- so many reviewers mentioned of the horrible glitches and terrible A.I. even here on Gamespot. I guess at the time the PS2 didnt really have that many FPS so gamers there would have been more accepting, but if Killzone were placed on the Xbox- There is no way it would fly with the crowd especially with what the Xbox gamers already had available to them. What really surprised me is how so many people started getting hyped about the KZ2 not long after it was announced. we didn;t hear much on the game improvements, what new features are being implemented, what they thought needed to be addressed- we just saw that video where they landing in from the sky and invaded the Helghast and the Sony crowd went nuts! It seemed to me the PS3 crowd needed a champion FPS desperately and all hope was pinned on to a title with still a spotty history. If Brute Force 2 was announced as well right of the back of the first game, would people be as excited knowing of how dissapointing the first game was or how it failed to live up to the hype? No doubt the Cows would go at the Lemmings for it for wearing rose tinted fanboy goggles and completely ignoring the overhype of the first game . The only good KZ game was really good was Liberation on PSP but that took a completely different Isometric approach which actually helped it, because the first one wasn't really successful. I guess we can not completely give a game a bad score or judgementy until it comes out, but on that same token we shouldn't give it a good score neither. I reckon criticism is not out of hand here, but just to counter balance the unjustified uncritical praise. All I know is that it looks awesome, but I havn't heard that many new features they will implement in mutliplayer- what they thought was wrong with the first game and how they are going to address it. here is the truth. Cows and Lemmings are excited/nervous that KillZone 2 may be all that and be killer apps they really needed or it may flop and just be another line of broken promises and overhype.

p.s. I hope KZ2 does become great not for the sake of the PS3 fanboys but for the gaming industry as a whole and what can be done with the FPS genre. Because I'm starting to get tired of getting burnt by bad games and broken promises.
