PSN being "Rebuilt"

Looks like someone's finally catching on to the real culprit. I read this in the comments to the second link:

About time they shed some light on this. I wanted to get on mgo today, but alas.

Off topic: Had a massive overload over good, mostly new mass effect 3 info loaded into my brain. Officially, my most anticipated title of the year. Talked about who else is confirmed, the revamped combat and sound, locations..just...wow. Anyone that sees this, check on the me3 360 board. Dont feel like making a topic about it.

Yes it can but then your messing with one of the oldest technology companies in the world. So have fun with that. Plus its a service thats grosses billions

MS have probably been in the top 5 most hack targetted entities in the world for the last 20 years and have a network that dwarfes Sony's by magnitudes. I dare say that MS's experience in defending against the smartest blackhats out there (that while they are probably not "hackproof") MS would be infinitely harder to breach in a substantial way than Sony.

Its good that sony is rebuilding psn...but I doubt they are actually doing just that...Cause really that would take far longer then a few days.

IF you for some reason think Sony is to blame for this you need to think harder. They're working hard to retain customer services and you should really be "thanking" the anonymous "freedom fighters" who are busy messing with consumers for the sake of the very same consumers' "rights".

Regardless, every single member and supporter of Anon is a terrible asshat.

Lucky for me, I own an ancient hardcopy. Now that game was pure controversy back in the day.

I should note that for the most part I take a rather casual PoV to coorperate methods since I'm free to not buy their products if I don't like how they smell.

Oh, and do look foreward to Xenogears. It's pretty damn sweet once you get past the hideous graphics and clunky controls :)

But as the very URL you're linking to states, the service wasn't completely down for the entire period. As I remember it, it was a stability issue that affected a lot of users who had trouble logging in or creating accounts. It wasn't a global in the sense it was down uniformally for everyone for such an extended period of time. So while it was still a problem, it wasn't a problem to this degree.
