What's funny is a lot of it is true. Didn't see any retail PS4 until almost launch time. When that happens, you know there's got to be an issue.

Guess I'm lucky then, been playing mine for 7hrs now. And all of my friends that purchased one are doing fine as well, which is seven others. According to SW at least half of us should have broken machines *rolls eyes*

Customers who are disappointed are the loudest. Happy customers usually are just happy and quiet about it. That's why internet and public forums aren't a good source on really how good a service or a product is. If you've worked in customer service or marketing you know this. Not to mention all the trolls.

Was stuck playing Resogun all day cuz EA and their bs Origin didn't let me log in on my acc in BF4. My ps4 hard locked 4 times, stuck on resogun once, Warframe crash every time i try to play it lol clusterfuck but was fun, would suggest!

RROD started some time after the launch when the lead less solder went kaput but these are already dying right out of the box or after just some hours of use, none of them had a real durability test .

Damn! By Monday I think we'll have a handle on if this is truly bad or just a really small percentage.

True, but for someone who just spent $400 and probably is not tech savy, this is a nightmare. Something they should not have to deal with.

Mine works perfectly both online and off, i've been enjoying both single player Killzone and online Warzones Killzone since i hooked up my PS4 and i'm even loving the PSN freebies " Contrast, Warframe, Resogun, and a few others.

The system looks and works perfectly on my end, but considering millions are being shipped and bouncing around on airplanes trucks and warehouses, i'm sure a few of them are liable to get damaged, just glad mine wasn't one of them.

Downloads such as updates, games and installs are also buttery smooth, much improved over PS3 download and install process.

About 12 hours of it being used non stop yesterday and no problems to report. (Knocks on wood) warframe feels great with a controller and i had a blast playing it. Couldn't try kz mp, but I thought it was okay. Starts a bit slow, but decent. Resogun is amazing though. I will try more once i get a few things finished this morning.

Well we all know bias cows on here will continue to kiss Sony @$$ whether their system bricks or not. lol!! Everyone is aware that not ever PS4 is having these problems. There's a large number of them that are. I'm wondering how many of them came from the Foxconn manufacturer, where those disgruntle students were making them. Seems many of these bad systems are coming from Amazon.com orders.

Seems like BS, since I've had mine since Friday morning at 9AM and played online all day. Also both of mine work fine. Sounds like people that put their PS4s encased without enough ventilation. My PS3s & my PS4s fans get louder whenever they don't have the back and front of them open to ventilation. There will always be liars, exaggerators, and people who don't understand proper ventilation of electronics.

You can damage control all you want. Just because yours works fine doesn't mean the thousands of complaints from other PS4 fans are false. You can see the same thing on Amazon.com & IGN's forums. I don't think this has anything to do with ventilation. PS4's are dying as soon as the power button is pushed. One guy got shocked twice when he pushed the power button. Crazy stuff.

This poll shows that only 51% of the PS4's are working perfectly. Going by the same exact criteria, the PS4 has a 49% fail rate......

PS4 launch is a complete and total disaster. To argue this is absurd. To the players with working PS4's, good. But the ever growing thousands is getting out of hand!

That poll was at 62% positive when I checked it yesterday. Not it's at 51%. These polls can't be considered fact however as trolls can easily bump them or lower them. We know there are many difference issues with the PS4 right now. We're pretty sure it's a lot higher then any 0.4%. I'm thinking it's over 10% at this point.

Cannot wait for the xb launch, going to be an ugly day. Reminds me of the 2012 election, if you read the news comments on yahoo, you'd swear Romney was winning by a landslide. Which was odd at the time since yahoo is the last place to get conservative slanted news. No doubt in my mind a majority of the negative reviews can be traced back to a marketing firm. Yeah at least xbox ones have been in journalist's hands for a long time and no reported faults so far. Ps4 wasn't even in the hands of Ign or Gamespot until launch week, something was definitely up with that.

I finally got to play PS4 today at my friends bar/lounge. I played COD & NFS. Everyone was right, COD looks awful...like worse than BlackOpsII. PSN was working but it did take like 5min to connect to a team death match. The bartender walks by and says, "You're still waiting?" LoL Does COD have dedicated servers on PS4? Anyways, I thought the layout of the 3 maps I played seemed cool and it was difficult to adjust to a DS controller. NFS was was mehh as well. Granted, I was just driving around and not really getting into it. I will say, I liked the PS4 UI a lot more than PS3. I'm sticking to my guns, I'll pick up the system around the time Second Son comes out.

Well, I finally got my PS4 box opened and got the system setup. Everything went pretty smooth. Only problems I had was connecting to my Wifi. I had entered the password wrong the first time. When a tried it a 2nd time it got stuck saying "Please Wait" for like 10mins. Had to back out and try it again and it worked. Other issue was having PSN recognize my PSPlus account. I subscribed yesterday and downloaded some games on my PS3. When I got into the PS4's PSN is didn't see my account as having PSPlus. I had to reboot the PS4 and then it recognized it. Haven't played any games yet. Downloaded Resogun & Contrast for free. So I'll try those first before installing KZ:SF & ACIV.

Also, my PS4 was also manufactured at Hongfutai, Yantai, China (Sept 2013). So there is obviously a large batch of defective systems from this area and a larger batch of perfect systems with no issues. Amazon seems to have gotten the most defective PS4's. I went back to Gamestop and got an Extended Warranty. Just in case. They said the only issues theyve seem with their PS4 was the HDMI port problem. Hopefully Sony can find out what happened at Foxconn. It really sucks for fans who got gimped PS4's.

They estimate that maybe 4000 have failed out of 1.5 million sold. That is way under 1%. It's just the few that break are slewn all over the web.

the 360 had a 55% failure rate of over 10 million consoles. That's 5.5 million of the 10 million.
