Just be honest PSN is a FLOP in itself so many bugs and no one hardly uses mics and your getting terrible service from developers supporting there games with severs and online.

I mean for real even in the COD4 Beta everyone is using mics and it runs and plays great with buddy invites and the works just a normal day on Exbox Live.

psn is fine the most important thing here is lag in games, psn is fine in this department. all the other features are not so important and are getting sorted anyway. no community? we will see when everyone has home and the in game xmb!

only reason why you guys think its worth 50 if because MS was first to mainly focus on online. Thats nice and all but i will never pay as long as sony offers something decent for free. Free is always good but its better than paying.

um, Warhawk has been out for a few weeks. Its expected to suffer from some problems at first. The important thing is that they try and actually fix them.

Can you be specific with the bugs? What bugs? Give an example.

Nobody uses mics? Um, do you honestly want everyone to have a mic? And if you take a game like Resistance, pretty much all of the gamers that play the game regularly have a mic.

Going back to Resistance, they've had 4 or 5 patches for the game that have fixed problems after they have come up. They've implemented worldwide servers, a report feature, new game types, new maps, and changed settings like round time limits and weapon power. The game works pretty damn well. There is a bit of lag when playing on the worldwide servers, but jeez its freaking worldwide and you can easily switch to the north american server, where lag is rare even on the 40 player maps.

You honestly have no idea of what you're talking about, have proved it, and should probably stop.

 also i hear if you disable media servers on your ps3, warhawk will stop freezing.. hasnt happened to me since

A few things PSN needs to be succesful:

Mics need to become standardized (somehow, someway, get every online gamer a mic - XBL did this by including it in a pack with XBL membership cards, but I'm sure Sony can find a way - maybe including it with the PS3?)

Extensive testing of online game features PRIOR to release. The current warhawk debacle CANNOT happen again - stat system is broken, people can't sign into the network, games are crashing left and right.. What the hell is going on?

Other kinks can be worked out as time goes on, but these two need to be addressed soon.

Playing online should be free, that is why PC will always be better than the 360. MS is a joke that they charge when they have the money to run it free with all its features.

It's great example of how XBL offers things that are built into the dev kits: leaderboards, stat-tracking and TruSkill matchmaking. Devs only need to implement it.

That's only part of why XBL is worth the subscription.

I have no problem with PSN.

And I like my free service and I have no trouble playing Tekken 5 DR online.

the reason people don't use mics is beause the PS3 doesn't come standard wih a mic. Play warhawh, lots of mics there since the game comes packaged with one. Wait for SOCOM, which also comes with a mic, and you're set. As for the core features, its downloadable game service is superior to lives (warhwawk alone beats eveything else), and its online service, while lacking integrated buddy lists and cross-game invites, is quite functional and in many cases superior in terms of lag. It has a demo for pretty much every 360 game (the worthwhile ones anyway) and it has tons of demos for games that haven't come out yet. Live has a ton of more stuff to download and the fact that you can download Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on a microsoft console is hilarious. PSN runs on dedicated servers and WE DONT PAY, while you have to pay for your service for undedicated servers also, XBL is overated as can be dude, all it has is some more features which PSN doesent feature Yet. Also in XBL you dont pay 50 dollars per year you pay around 70 dollars the first year then you continue with 50.....Well atleast my 360 was like that. Also dude Home should be cominbg out around the next 3 months or so, and that blows the competition away, and sony has yet alot more stuff to unveil. And stop saying there no lag, When i played Gears i had like Non-stop bullet lag same with lost planet. While my resistance, motorstorm so far havent had problems online. Warhawk is the only game so far i encountered problems with, just the stats and its pretty hard to find games sometimes, other than that the game is unbelievable. So stop with this while XBL > PSn stuff, its getting Reeaallllyy old dude, And yes XBL is better than PSN but is it worth it?? The only thing I see the PlayStation Network lacking is integration and that's coming in XMB 2.0 + Home which is October, next month. PSN, free, with integration, and amazing servers without lag would beat XBOX Live if you ask me. XBOX Live needs to ditch the P2P server standard and also add some dedicated servers, because from my experiences, they make a really big difference.

About the mics. I see people use them all the time. This depends on the type of game you play. If you play with noobs, no one will talk. If you play with experienced gamers and in teamwork oriented situations, expect to hear people talk all the time. Warhawk is push-to-talk and yet many have mics and use. R6V also has a lot who use mics. If you play in with clans, or experienced gamers. Resistance gamers also use mics a lot in ranked games. The option to get cheaper, and bluetooth mics is also good. Don't bash the PSN because it's doing and will soon do more great things. XBL doesn't suck, but in 2008, PSN will be more advanced if you ask me (opinion, not fact).
