like the title says... no one talks compared to xbox live and for some reason the peoples mics always sound like **** bluetooth sucks for ps3 and i use a usb mic and it sounds so much better then any other mic there. only my 2 reasons why i think it sucks... otherwise the from the lag and all that its on par with xbl

PSN is good enough for me.

Completely satisfied with PSN. No one cares to cooperate in games (PSN, LIVE, PC, etc) and all that ends up happening is people trash talk and whatnot. When I play with friends (real ones), I use the mic, and they all have mics that all work well with no sound problems. I am 100% satisfied with the free service. Sony slowly improves (though Home is a nosedive they should have avoided), and soon we may see things like cross-game chats and whatnot. Basically for me, the 360 seems to offer more, but since I don't care about their extra features, I am fine with PSN.

Also, I have no idea where lag comes into the service. Lag depends on your connection the last time I checked, and my PSN runs lag free on any game 95% of the time. When it lags its usually due to a fault on my end.

You can encounter the same type of people over PSN and you don't even have to be playing in a game, it's called Home.

Oh man that's just Gears2. It probably has the worst online community ever. If you want to meet some mature people I suggest you play a game like L4D or R6V2.

Did I read that correctly the PSN is on par with XBL except for lag and the blue tooth headset problems you have... yet you then manage to say the XBL destroys the PSN?!?!?!

I have no lag and my Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset works fine... try playing at a different time of the day or stop downloading your p0rn while you game online and maybe get a better blue tooth head set.

Also to istreakforfood... its easier for parents to spend £120 on an X-Box Arcade than £280 on a PS3

Can I ask where you got the information or is it an assumption? So there aren't any parents willing to buy their kids a ps3 if they have the income to do so or adults who buy the cheaper console due to their own reason such as income.

I hate talkers. Its annoying as they try to tell you what to do, and most of them have no clue. Only once in Resistance 2 has someone told me something noteworthy, I was a medic and he said someone died. Though I would have seen that on the screen anyway...

Mostly though its just people who think we all need a running commentary of the game non stop, people who like to swear when they die or get a kill, or people who think its funny to put stupid songs on the mic.

The ONLY time I use my mic is in warhawk when i set up a custom game for freinds only, or when i play LBP with friends. Becuase at the end of the day theres no point trying to help everyone as no one want help, and you will end up with everyone muting you and then kicking you off.

Which is good, the people who constantly talk on mics deserve to be kicked of PSN...

I'll take the free online and web browser, please. Don't like voice anyway.

Personally, I think the most important thing is that when I connect online to a game I stay connected, not if someone is or isn't talking. But then again, that's just me.

360 doesn't cost more, $200 < $400. But obviously PS3 is a better value. Future lemming toddlers just don't realize it yet.

The official lemming view on PSN: Its a good service, just not up to par with LIVE. After all, its better then WiiConnect

I constantly run into problems with voice chat on PSN. 99 percent of the time i am asking if anyone can hear me, or i am hearing other people asking the same thing...its inconsistant at best. Plus, several games require a button pressed to talk which is rather primitive and inconvenient during game play. Then the fact that only a small percentage of psn player actually have a microphone does not help. Friend invites are a bit awkward in certain games too. Every game is different, not intuitive or structured uniformally like LIVE...its a bit of a crap shoot how everyting is going to work.Videodogg
