The 360 dash isn't icon-based. There are different wallpapers for each blade for a 360 theme. Many of them are FREE.

Yes PS3 is better with icons:) PS3 themes have multiple wallpapers also they change when you sign in or out, only the ones you buy for 360 or free have multiple wallpapers you cant do that custom.

Custom as is the whole thing not just wallpapers.

XBL has dozens of free custom themes too. ok they do charge for some... but youd have to be a nutter to buy these

There's also the Message Board on the PS3 which kind of serves a similar purpose, delivering news etc.
