But still, of course the 3DS is going to be more expensive; it's brand new.

The 3DS does come with a lot of fun software:
"Pre-installed software will include:
Some of the pre-installed software, while technically included on the 3DS, will not be activated until a software update comes post-launch. This includes the 3DS web browser."

You should clarify in the thread title
You're aware they give away LBP now? And you're probably looking at a refurb unit (You're also missing that the 3DS comes with multiple games)
the PSP, with one game (Invizimals and something else) and a 1GB-2GB Memory Stick Duo is $200
3DS, a more powerful next generation game system comes with AR Games, 2GB SD card for $250
Thats like saying "the Xbox is 150 what a rip off that they're launching the xbox 360 with no game for $300-$400"
Its a new console, new generation, of course its more expensive
And isn't all 3DS discussion for the sticky?
Heck, I'm willing to bet by June, at e3, the 3DS will have nearly as many A/AA/AAA on MC as the PSP will have, this year (like in 2011 up to June 2011) If not more (depending on when 3DSWare and VC launch)
Also, the 3DS can multi-task, you can browse the web and take notes mid-game, plus having a 3d screen, and motion controls, a few built in games, a 2GB card, a touch screen so comparing it to a $200 PSP package doesn't seem so bad
Have they anounced whether it will have multi touch. That was sorely missed on the DS.You're aware they give away LBP now? And you're probably looking at a refurb unit (You're also missing that the 3DS comes with multiple games)

But the 3ds games looks as good or even worse than any psp game from today :| (judging from videos)A system from a newer generation is more expensive than a system from an older generation.
I guess this is the part where I act surprised.
Slashkice
Not fair comparing an 'old' handheld's price tag to a new handheld which has yet to be released in a couple of months.. Its quite obvious that 3DS will cost more having better hardware, 3D etc etc.. its not like i'm expecting to see PSP2 being launched at $149, most probably it wont cost less than $249 either..
However i do believe that $249 for a handheld (am talking in general) is a bit too much..

I expect all the 3DS price whiners to do similar threads when the PSP2 is announced at $350+.
p3anut
I doubt it. These 3DS price whiners are whining because it's a Nintendo system.
I think they are whinning becuase for the price you pay you get just an upgrade from a DS.. When the psp came out for the first time, it had wifi, lcd screen, UMDSs, memory stick, its was revolutionary for its time ( as a handlehead)[QUOTE="p3anut"]

PSP still struggles with its identity. Why invest in something that is a watered down console. 3DS brings true handheld quick experiences to the table and now its also bringing larger entertainment to the platform.Great comeback, I'm impressed.OreoMilkshakeTo be fair they look comparable, though it's clear the 3ds looks better and when you take in to account that it's a first gen(most likely) game vs a fifth( or sixth gen) then it's more impressive.

Don't see why it bothers some. They did the same thing when the psp price was announced(and they'll do it again if the psp2 costs more than the 3ds... very hypocritical).[QUOTE="OreoMilkshake"]

You must be blind to think those games look miles apart from each other. To be honest the 3DS MGS looks like a tweaked version of the PSP version but not a huge overhaul. C'mon lets be real

The PSP has blurrier textures, but less jaggies. A fine trade off considering how small the picture is and how close the player is to the screen. :|

Honestly, I prefer jaggies over blur.
The lighting and everything else is better on 3DS.
Can someone please PINPOINT EXACTLY in the screen shot where PSP peacewalker looks worse than the 3DS metal gear game?
Im looking at it and psp version has less jaggies is a little blurry but the graphics are equal cuz the ds one has jaggies is harder on the eyes
the technology in psp is about the same as the 3ds and no 3ds person has shown me otherwise show a better ss than that peacewalker pic of the psp

No the technology on the 3ds is not the same as the psp. Find a game on the psp that looks better than this.
Note that this screenshot is blown up and has no 3d effects which will greatly enhance the visuals once played on the 3ds. and even then it still looks good.

But is it GTAIV over GTAIII better? Next Gen vs Last Gen better......No, which is quite sad for it to be "Next Gen"

What? Of course GTAIV is better - graphically. Because that's what this is about - graphics.
And I can't even believe we're having this discussion. Yes, this is System Wars, but come on. The 3DS is a more powerful system than the PSP, this is just a fact.
I acknowledged the 3DS is more powerful than the PSP but is powerful enough to call it "Next Gen" like the PS3 to the PS2
If the 3DS was called "Current Gen" I wouldn't have a problem

The original comment was that 3DS looks just the same if not worse than PSP. Nowhere are we saying it looks leaps and stars better. Just that it looks better.[QUOTE="Slashkice"]
