Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, 2010 FIFA World Cup, Grand Theft Auto, and more will all be given away to anybody who has registered their PSP Go after April 1st. Or buys and registers a new one.
Great news for anybody who bought a PSP Go this April or May. In June you're about to get 10 free games! Sony is about to launch a new bundle, and it's even retroactive back until April 1st. And these games aren't scraped from the bargain bins of yesteryear either. It will include Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, 2010 FIFA World Cup, and Grand Theft Auto (but we're not sure which one yet).
Sony Computer Entertainment's UK Sales Director Mark Howsen just revealed the plan in an interview with MCV. The full interview isn't available yet, but so far we've got this little nugget:
"On PSPgo we've decided to innovate with that particular business model. Next month we're launching a free ten game offer. And this isn't just older titles – we've worked with third parties and there's some really good core products. We're using it as a method to drive the hardware as well by making the whole proposition much more appealing."
The PSP Go hasn't exactly been igniting the sales charts for a new PSP model, but this is the kind of super-deal the digital-only handheld was made for. Without any manufacturing, shipping, or retail costs, Sony is free to go nuts and digitally give everything away when the mood strikes. And that mood is set to strike next month!
We offer our condolences to anyone who registered his or her PSP Go on March 31st. Have any of you been waiting for a **** bundle like this to pick up a Go?
