Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, 2010 FIFA World Cup, Grand Theft Auto, and more will all be given away to anybody who has registered their PSP Go after April 1st. Or buys and registers a new one.

Great news for anybody who bought a PSP Go this April or May. In June you're about to get 10 free games! Sony is about to launch a new bundle, and it's even retroactive back until April 1st. And these games aren't scraped from the bargain bins of yesteryear either. It will include Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, 2010 FIFA World Cup, and Grand Theft Auto (but we're not sure which one yet).

Sony Computer Entertainment's UK Sales Director Mark Howsen just revealed the plan in an interview with MCV. The full interview isn't available yet, but so far we've got this little nugget:

"On PSPgo we've decided to innovate with that particular business model. Next month we're launching a free ten game offer. And this isn't just older titles – we've worked with third parties and there's some really good core products. We're using it as a method to drive the hardware as well by making the whole proposition much more appealing."

The PSP Go hasn't exactly been igniting the sales charts for a new PSP model, but this is the kind of super-deal the digital-only handheld was made for. Without any manufacturing, shipping, or retail costs, Sony is free to go nuts and digitally give everything away when the mood strikes. And that mood is set to strike next month!

We offer our condolences to anyone who registered his or her PSP Go on March 31st. Have any of you been waiting for a **** bundle like this to pick up a Go?

Translation: "This thing is pretty much tanking, and we're pretty desperate to move units. I mean, WE knew it was a complete rip-off, but we didn't expect consumers to be able to rub two brain cells together and figure it out as well. I mean like, wow, we aren't fooling anyone. We literally have a warehouse full of them out in Texas. We can't give the damn things away, I mean hell, even I still game on my PSP-3000."

I'm too lazy to do the math, but does the cost of these 10 games even make up the price difference between the Go and the regular PSP? If not the Go will probably continue to be a failure (even though I doubt this will save it either way, but it might help with a good Ad campaign).

Scrap PSP Go.
No one wants a broken psp, and it's missing games on psn due to copyright.

It's definitely a good deal for first time buyers.

Problem is is that those 10 games are pretty much the entire PSN library :P God it's so incredibly limited compared to the PSP's library of retail games.

At least Sony is acknowledging that it's a failure - we already knew this before the thing launched. Some of the games on the list are pretty decent (LBP, Wipeout, Motorstorm) but most are pretty middling. And then there's Assassin's Creed. But most of those games are quite cheap now anyway. Wipeout on UMD retails for about five bucks, LBP broke $18 a few weeks back and the others are either on sale on PSN or are something no one would want in the first place.

The problem is Digital Distribution and UMD. If Sony ditched the UMD and went with some smaller format like micro SD, the PSP Go would have sold like crazy.

If this move doesn't show a significant increase in sales of the PSP Go, I think there is a good chance of the system being officially discontinued within a year.

Sony's foresight in that area was to skip moving to an SD format (like their camera division wisely did after years of stupidity) and create yet ANOTHER proprietary Sony memory format. Thanks, Sony!

I personally think the pspgo is a good concept I mean who wants to bring bundles of umds on trips I have the original psp I bought in 2006 and I mostly get games on download like playstation 1 games I have 15 of my all time fav games and I buy some great psp games like LBP, GTA CTW and others it's a good concept to have digital downloads.

what sony messed up on the psp go is having to repurchase the same game in download format I mean sony you should've started the psp with digital downloads nobody wants to replace their exisiting psp librarys to pay to buy the same games again.

the psp go should have at least offered a umd slot.

second the pricing when the psp go was first anounced (me being the biggest sony fan in the world) could not even defend sony, I mean what ARE YOU THINKING setting the price so ridicolously high at this point in the lifetime of the psp andwith this economy.

when the pspgo came the PS3 was starting to do good as a result of the recent pricedrop I was saying to myself sony is doing it right it's pulling itself together only to be shocked at their immature mistake, it's like they learned nothing from the PS3 initial start.

sony, people want to save, they want cheap, the cheaper the more it will sell.

I had to get that of my chest.

I love psp but sony dropped the ball with the psp go decision.

hopefully if it's possible they can fix their mistake but it looks unlikely, they should just let the go go (pun intended) and keep working on the psp as it's doing good in america and especially japan and europe nations it's already at 60 million.

It really says something when the Go has to pull the same trick the Sega Saturn did back in the day to drum up sales. I like the PSP, but the Go is of no interest to me. Why in the world would I buy a system that can't play UMD games?

When you lose a good portion of a system's library, its not worth the money.

The vast majority of the best selling and highly rated games is on PSN.

Go haters are poor children that trade games :) J/K.

The PSPgo is the first PSP i'd even consider portable. The rest are tanks, and if it wasn't for the GO i wouldn't have ever bought one.

With a full time job the price difference for what I wanted (Blue Tooth, Portability, etc) was worth it.

UMD is slow as hell and a dead format anyway.

You guys should stop bashing on the Go, it is surprisingly nice, slim, and much more portable than the 3000. (I can't even carry around that thing in comfort. It serves as a mini console station in my bedroom.) If the Go was 50$ cheaper and had an UMD game conversion plan, it would have done so much better. Sony is making a good move, but they should have done this since the launch of the Go IMO.... Anyone feel that Sony is made out of 2 divisions? One that makes stupid mistakes and the other is there to fix it? :P

The PSP Go is nice hardware but it is overpriced. It should be less than the 3000 since you are forced to buy all your games directly from Sony.

Sony needs to realize that they are not just competing with the DS but also the iphone/ipod touch. There are a lot of great iphone games for less than $5 and you also get a better browser and movie library.

Most people I know are satisfied with iphone games and have no desire to buy a dedicated portable gaming machine. Nintendo has the kid market locked up so Sony is looking pretty screwed.

While clearly an attempt to boost sales, this also seems like a suspicious prelude to product discontinuation and possibly even a PSP2 announcement.

I don't really think they should scrap the pspgo they should just fix their mistake the go is a good design.

if I was running sony I would add umd option and make it !$100 - $150 and that will sell.

if they did that from the get go the pspgo would be a success.

man sony needs to seriously get rid of some of their staff.

Sony decided to make their desperate move. The main problem with this deal is the PSP Go is still the same price it was when it launched. If Sony wants this deal to stick and move a few PSP Go's, they're going to have to lower the price at least $50 minimum. I have no intentions of getting this bundle because 1) I hate the PSP Go. 2) Most of their 10 games I already own in UMD format. I'm sure Sony has lost millions on the PSP Go, because they still have millions of them all boxed up in their warehouse.

Not every game on the DS is a winner. The PSP has great games too. Either way, it depends on which games are included, not what system they're from...

They aren't that great. Most of them are pretty overrated.
