Everywhere you look, the stories are the same, the gamers are the same, the outlook is the same: PSP Go will sell like crap at first.

I'll admit, it's the first PSP I'm actually interested in personally, and the system is beginning to garner enough decent games to warrant a purchase (bearing in mind I'm a total sheep). That said, £225 / $250 is too much, especially when it's beginning to feel dated, and the PS3 is a mere £50 / $50 more.

What do you guys think?

not worst sales of all time, but i don't expect it to do great. i think gt5 bundle will definitely help, but 250 is a ridiculous price, i can get a ps3 for the same price in the uk!. if it get's down to the £100 mark i may become interested, but right now i have no desire to update my psp 1000 anytime soon.

I am 100% sure it will not have the worst all time sales of a console/handheld.. because of Apple Bandai Pippin and 4 other terrible consoles that came out in the 90s

Possibly. It certainlly overpriced, I could buy an Xbox 360 for that. Also it's a very risky move making it download only. Alot of people won't be comfortable with it.

I wanted what whoever priced the psp go was smokin! who in gods name prices an updated system more than the BETTER counterpart, and dont tell the consumer what plans they have to play the old games that they bought on umd on the new system.

That's what they said of the DS and Wii.... .....honestly, I don't see this selling well. It's worse value than the Game Boy Micro, and it actually played Game Boy Advance games.

Well the price is really low, but a lot may buy it, considering it's more portable and dosen't use UMD's.

Just have to wait and find out.

But the PSP Go isn't supposed to be a high-volume retail monster, it's glorified market research for the PSP2 and the viability of DD in the portable market.

I'm not too confident with the GO myself.

I dont like the idea of the GO being $50 cheaper than a whole PS3 system.

However, the GT deal is a very smart move.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'll buy it when the price hits $150 and when I see how much they are going to be charging for downloadable games. IMO if they are getting rid of the costs of putting the games on UMD's, shipping them, and other expenses, the games better not cost more than $30.

Worst ever? No. Bigger risk than the PS3 price point on launch. Yup, IMO. When the 3000 is selling for $169 US, I don't see any point of getting a Go. Unless between now and launch they provide a system seller, and I don't think GT is a system-seller, though many people want it. I may just pre-order GT5 to get it instead.

http://kotaku.com/5342129/psps-metal-gear-solid-will-require-hundreds-of-hours-to-complete I am getting one, just for this game. Its only a bit more than PSP, and you also get GT free. i don't think it will sell horrible.

I don't know why everyone compares the GO to the PS3. Comparing a handheld to a console makes no sense. When you compare PSP GO to Zune HD or Ipod Touch it actually looks pretty well priced. Personally I think the PSP 3000 is the best deal, although I like the size of the PSP GO and it's just a sweet piece of technology.

i'd be more interested to see if GT Mobile's piracy downloads rival its actual retail purchases (like how Sony said Resistance downloads were alarming close to the sales)
