Well if you look at the PSP's game, they're all the same things you can get on the PS2, Tekken, MGS, tons of sports games, socom, etc. that there is nothing original, I mean I own a PS2, why wouldn't I play those games there, with the DS it has great games that cannot be found on the consoles, elite beat agents, hotel dusk, Nintendogs, Pheonix Wright, etc.

Konfusion

Oh and I suppose Lumines (at the time), Killzone: Liberation, Daxter, Field Commander, Tokobot, Loco Roco, Exit, Metal Gear Acid 1 and 2, etc. can be found on other consoles?

Like I said, another killzone game, another couple of MG games, a ripoff of Advance wars, etc. those alsong with sports and racers are what make up the majority of the PSP lineup, yes there are a few new IPs and original stuff, but those are the minority by far, the DS on the other hand has a bunch of original stuff

Another Mario Kart game.
Another Advanced Wars rehash.
Another Mario 2D platformer.
Another Metroid Prime...

The only games that are truly original on the DS are Nintendogs, Phoenix Wright and Elite Beat Agents.
The rest is just rehash and sequels like every other console in the history of gaming.

Just because the DS' graphics aren't on par with the GC's (like the PSP and the PS2), doesn't mean that it's a totally new experience from what we've played before.

Yeah but AT LEAST those games are worth the expense... ktxbye.

Did you just ktxbye me with an opinion as fact?

God you're lame.

Hotel Dusk, Brain Training, Picross, Professor Layton, etc. are all original

Hotel Dusk is point-and-click adventure.
Are you telling me point-and-click is new?

Brain Training is a bunch of Internet games (that are usually free) put in a nice little package with a price tag on it.
It's true though that Nintendo invented Sudoku

Who even cares about 2 games no one has ever heard of?

Well first off Hotel Dusk and brain training are original even if they fall under older genres, it may be a point and click adventure, but its not something you find on the consoles, when was the last time you saw a game like Hotel dusk on the PS2?  Same with brain training?

Also Picross and Layton are very popular in Japan, and are just waiting to get localized here in the states

PSP owns DS so hard it's not funny. No serious gamer plays any Nintendo products. They aim everything at freaking kids!! Everyone cites RE4.....worst example ever....a game that went to PS2 and came out after GC died.

NextGenNow

Well from the sales it appears no gamers of any kind play the PSP...

At the end of the day it boils down to this: More consumers are satisfied with the DS than the PSP. If you aren't then take your snivelling elsewhere, no one cares about your personal "wahwah's" in System Wars, if we did we could write of the PS2 with "not-for-me's" quite easily, or any system for that matter.

You know the fact that you're only down to only a handful of so-called "original" games to claim that the DS library owns the PSP library is already sad enough.

No there are a lot more than this, but many tend to blur the line between game and Nongame, like I could name kanji Trainer, or that new Yoga trainer, or common sense trainer, and the such but would you consider them games is another matter

even if they were considered games, there are SO MANY training games for the DS that I don't think it can be considered "original" anymore, just like how you say the PSP is only full of racing and sport games.

Really there is no argument. I'm not saying that the PSP library is better than the DS (nor the other way around, because that is purely subjective), but the arguments used to put down the PSP are really not true if you actually give a look at what it has to offer.

I mean, what does it take for a game to be original in your eyes? Metal Gear Acid not good enough? What if there was a similar kind of card strategy game without the MG characters or story? Would then game then be called original? Just because it uses the same franchise doesn't mean the game can't be original. That's like saying Puzzle Fighter II isn't original because it's based off of the Street Figher franchise, or that Metroid Prime is not original because it's based off the Metroid franchise, or Paper Mario, etc, you get what I'm saying?

i own both

i use my DS more for games, but use the PSP more for its video playback

there are some good games on the PSP, but not enough to warrant a purchase if you want it as a games console
