It's all about the games. The Vita looks like a fantastic gadget, but the 3DS simply has too many awesome games all releasing before this year's end.charizard1605
Be That as it may, the Vita is going to have more great titles at launch than the 3DS did.

Let's hope so. Remember that Nintendo promised Ocarina 3D, Star Fox 3D, Mario Kart 3D, Super Street Fighter IV, Metal Gear Solid 3D and Animal Crossing 3D for its launch, and only one of those made it ultimately. Similarly, they also promised that the 3DS would have battery comparable to the DSi's. We can't go by any promises that Sony makes. We need to see what the system's library and battery life is like, we need to wait for its release, before we pass any conclusive judgments regarding the two.Around 5:00 he says Mod-Nation will be available Day 1, thats a lot coming from a big sony grunt

i already hate cell phones , and id be damnd if handhelds carried a service charge lol
By the way, what's up with the Vita's release date? Aren't they going to miss out on a ton of Christmas sales releasing Dec. 31?PurpleMan5000Link to your source please. I mean last I heard, it didn't have a set date for release. Seeing you are claiming Dec. 31, you are going to have to provide a link to back that claim.
It's Important to note that sonyites expect the handheld to cost more, because its aimed at a 20+ year old, the 20-Something would have more money to spend on it, whereas the 3DS costs the same but is aimed at 6 year olds who don't have that kinda money.
which would explain why the $99 DS Lite is outselling the $249 3DS 2 to 1

The 3ds would sell a lot more if they came in pink, yellow, green & purple. The Teal color is not enough to get the attention of their intended audience.

I wouldn't start calling the death of the 3DS considering it has 2 games this holiday that will undoubtedly be way bigger sellers than any Vita games this year, not to mention big system sellers whether you like them or not.
Talking about Mario Kart and Super Mario btw.

You paid 250 $ for it?No, the 3DS is not failing. No, the Vita won't fail either.
Yes, both of them will do worse than last generation because the market is far different than it was in 2004. Yes, both of them will have awesome games and will be awesome devices.
The 3DS will probably have a larger install base by the end of it, but not by too much.

That's my take on the whole issue.
Ok, so it's been six months since my original post, both the 3DS and the PSVita have hit the ground... jogging. So, now that the Vita launch has come to pass, and the 3DS has built up a respectable library of games, what do all ye fourm-dwellers think of it?
...Also, loving my new PSVita!
I already own the 3DS, so it's pretty obvious that I would want the PSVita next. It's too bad that it's too expensive and they want you to pay $50-$100 for a memory card. I'm going to wait a year and then pick one up after the price drops on the system and cards. I'm perfectly happy with my PSP for now.
