I like how this box that hasn't been seen yet has already raised the spirits of the religously faithful. This E3 is going to be good fun!

@Zero_epyon: nah it was too easy. It was like handed over on a platter. It was almost automated. And it works :)

To me it still seems VR is immature tech I don't see it becoming a mainstream product yet.

All the VR haters sound like the people claiming we don't need HD screens and that we can't see 720p anyway xD Really, whoever put VR lenses on knows it has a huge potential that the technology just isn't ready to deliver today.

We just need to wait until the first company puts a 4k screen in it and is able to perfectly stream to it wirelessly while using your surroundings ingame to make it safe to use and are able to sell it at a good price (like $200). That and some creators that actually make use of it. There are so many fantastic examples on what we can do in VR, it's just not fleshed out at all.

I don't think VR or the PsVr is failing because of VR, but because our technology just isn't far enough to deliver a good product at a cheap price.

The VR haters are the same haters as the Kinect, Move, Wii-mote, Trackpad, Sixaxis haters. They hate wasted resources when it could get put into make good games, not shovelware.

PSVR is massively successful.

Great job comparing an 8th generation console versus a 1st generation vr headset that requires you already own a specific 8th generation console.

The PSVR sold well, sorry that you lemmings can't enjoy vr.

PSVR is cool, it really is. It has great potential to push gaming forward. But it needs to get cheaper and easier to use. If the VR hardware will get implemented into the PS5, and new smaller headsets will be developed, it can be a success. Maybe even start supporting 3rd party headsets.

I'm guessing the MS VR tech will be much better. Perhaps the hardware for their VR will be mostly baked into the console itself, making VR just a peripheral that is cheaper and simpler than PSVR.

I'm very curious as to how MS will implement VR. Will they try to be a superior version of PSVR, or maybe make it similar to one of the PC options, or maybe something original.

PSVR is amazing. If I could, I would play all my games exclusively in VR. Immersion is through the roof, there is no competition. After Farpoint nailed the FPS genre controls with Aim (I used X degree turn, like in RE7), I've been dreaming of VR Mass Effect or Fallout game. It would be a dream come true.

@harnessthepower: Kinect was a massive success? You lost all credibility with that. Kinect 2.0 was good. But only for voice control to navigate the console. Outside that. Total garbage.

PSVR is still in its infancy. Far from a success, but not yet a failure. VR just isn't exciting yet. It's cool as a gimmick. But no real purpose. But that could change. Gotta have games use it properly. No games use VR properly to the point you think it's a good investment. It's all a glorified tech demo.

But I am interested. Just got to see that one IP before I buy.

Yeah that 1.6% attachment rate is a massive success. You know what else is a massive success? you convincing us that you're a PC guy when all we hear from you is your endless shilling for Sony, hey quick link us your Steam profile again lol.

Considering it costs more than the actual console, that's not bad.

It's easy to see sales data and then release a press statement saying it has exceeded expectations, that's classic PR bullshit.

Can you link me an article before the PSVR's release where Sony states it's expectations of sales for the PSVR in the first 6 months?

Can you? Or perhaps, can you explain how, in your mind, Sony expected to sell more units than they shipped? It was largely sold out for a good portion of that time with third party pricing on Amazon at $100 and more above MSRP for a good chunk of time.

Or are we pretending that since it's in stock now, that's the way it's always been?

Go check out how much the first generation of consoles had for lifetime sales.

Then realize that the psvr requires you have the ps4 already. Then realize it is outselling the competition.

What are the requirements to be a pc gamer? Have a pc. Game on pc.

I have spent a lot more money on pc gaming than probably gaming on consoles in general and I have played games since the n64.

Sorry that your weak attempt at downing on sony failed, sorry you are a fanboy.

Gamers need to remember VR in general is still in it's early life in the gaming world, we all know it was going to be expensive devices, but stuff like this takes time. PSVR however is still the cheapest VR around but even I can understand it really needs a killer app VR game but overall, it's selling well and Sony didn't expect much but it's doing good. We should give it at least a year later before we call it a success or failure.

I'm not saying it can't ultimately fail or that it's setting the world on fire. But so far, I'd say it's been pretty successful. It most certainly can't be called a failure, or a flop right now. It's only recently that it's been readily available and we are just starting to get a better idea of the actual demand.

Poor lems. Can't experience the awesomeness that is VR, and won't be able to afford the $500 Scorpio to play games beyond 720p. Truly a sad sad group. No wonder they have such a victim complex! LOL

Rift and Vive have a nice steady stream of games every month and I own both. That's all that matters.

@putaspongeon: PSVR sold much less than the Wii U sold in the same time frame, and the Wii U was a massive flop.

So it's safe to say PSVR is a flop. I personally like the PSVR, I thought the Battlefront VR Mission was awesome. But c'mon, you gotta recognize floppage..

The Wii U was a massive flop for a 7th or 8th generation console.

The PSVR is first gen hardware that requires you already own some kind of playstation 4.

Resi 7 was great in vr, until dawn rush of blood, and multiple other games.

It's anything but a flop, it's just not selling 8th generation console numbers.

It's like saying ps4 is a flop for not selling as much as the oil industry.

@putaspongeon: PS4 is in 60 million households. Only one out of six PS4 owners thought PS VR compelling enough to buy it. That just doesn't bode well for PS VR, does it? I mean would more games help it sell better or is it the poor hardware sales that is keeping many developers from developing for it?

It's like you can't read.

PS4 is free to purchase for ANYONE

PSVR requires you own a ps4 of some kind

PSVR is 1st generation VR

PS4 is a 8th generation gaming console

I've literally seen 90% of the people say they don't buy it cuz it's new tech and are waiting to see how it does and all that.

But yeah, it's selling great, just not as much as ps4.
